Triumph Bonneville Bobber Launched at Rs 9.09 lakh
The Triumph Bonneville Bobber is a stripped down version of the popular Bonneville T120 in the flesh with classic retro styling and elegant touches all over
The Triumph Bonneville Bobber was internationally unveiled earlier this year and the British bikemaker has launched the motorcycle in India today. Dealerships had commenced bookings for the motorcycle at a booking amount of Rs 2 lakh, a few weeks ago. The bike will be delivered to customers within 10 days of full payment.
A stripped down version of everyday utility motorcycles with minimalistic styling is a rough depiction of what bobbers are. The Bonneville Bobber gets a floating aluminium single-seat pan, wide handle bars, and a hard tail look with a stripped down, signature bobber look. The motorcycle gets adjustable riding position, twin slash-cut sawn-off peashooter silencers with a muscular stance. The bike also gets an all-new chassis and suspension geometry, bubble tank, discrete taillights, custom battery box and a lean tucked-in headlamp. Other features include two riding modes - road and rain -, switchable traction control, torque-assist clutch and immobiliser. Buyers will also get choice of over 150 accessories to choose from with the motorcycle.
The Bonneville Bobber gets all the bells and whistles in line with all the other modern day motorcycles offered by Triumph with the electronics neatly integrated and masked under the skin. The Bobber is powered by a 1200cc parallel-twin motor which produces 77PS @ 6100 rpm and a peak torque of 106Nm @ 4000 rpm, mated to a six-speed gearbox. Most of the power and torque is available at lower rpm and the result is a relaxed powertrain, ideal for comfortable rides. The motorcycle gets a 310mm disc with Nissin twin-piston floating calipers at the front and a 255mm disc with Nissin single piston caliper at the rear along with ABS offered as standard. It gets KYB 41mm telescopic forks with 90mm travel at the front and KYB monoshock with 76.9mm travel at the rear. The motorcycle gets 9.1 litres of fuel tank capacity, runs on Avon Cobra tyres and is available in four colour options - Modello Red, Jet Black, Competition Green and Frozen Silver.
The motorcycle is priced at Rs 9.09lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The old school Bobber with quarter mile kit is available for Rs 1.5 lakh extra over the standard model. It takes on the likes of the Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber, Scrambler Ducati and the Harley-Davidson Forty Eight.
