Apart from a new paint scheme, there’s no cosmetic update.TVS has launched the BS6-compliant Apache RTR 160 2V in India at a starting price of Rs 93,500 (ex-showroom). At this price, the BS6 model is Rs 5,722 more expensive than its BS4 iteration. Bookings for the BS6 model have already commenced.
The BS6-compliant RTR 160 2V gets a new feature in the form of GTT – Glide Through Technology - where the rider doesn’t have to modulate the clutch or twist the throttle at low speeds. Here’s how it works.

Powering the 160 2V is an updated 159.7cc motor which, thanks to fuel injection, makes 15.53PS and 13.9Nm -- 0.41PS and 0.87Nm more than before. The rest of the mechanicals remain exactly the same.
The new RTR 160 4V is one of the few motorcycles that has actually received a bump in power in the shift from BS4 to BS6. We will reserve judgement on whether the hike in power does actually make a difference in terms of performance or not for the road test.

The motorcycle will come equipped with updated race graphics, ensuring a sportier appeal and will be powered by the Race Tuned-Fuel injection ‘RT-Fi’ technology. This is specially designed to ensure an enjoyable racing experience in all riding conditions throughout the engine’s life.
2020 TVS Apache RTR 160 BS-VI motorcycle is powered by a 159.7cc single-cylinder, 4-stroke, 2-valve, air-cooled engine motor; which is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The engine develops 15.53 PS at 8,400 RPM and 13.9 NM of torque at 7,000 RPM. Similar to the recently introduced in the 2020 TVS Apache RTR 4V motorcycles, the 2020 TVS Apache RTR 160 will also come equipped with an in-built, first in segment GTT – Glide Through Technology for low speed urban riding and enables an extremely smooth and controlled ride. Alongside, the RTRs continue to delight with a racier signature exhaust note.
Priced at ? 93,500 (front Disc) and ? 96,500 (rear Disc) (ex-showroom Delhi), the 2020 TVS Apache RTR 160 BS-VI motorcycle will be available in SIX colours namely Pearl White, Matte Blue, Matte Red, Gloss Black, Gloss Red and T Grey. The bookings for the motorcycle are now open at all TVS Motor Company dealerships across the country.
