TVS Radeon BS6: Road Test Review In Images

Modified On Mar 5, 2021 09:28 AM By Pratik Bhanushali for TVS Radeon

A closer look at TVS’ updated commuter bike

TVS has updated the Radeon to meet BS6 emission standards by giving it a cleaner engine and a fuel injection system as well. But how much has the Radeon changed since the transition? We explore all the important updates to the TVS Radeon BS6 in a set of images.

The TVS Radeon uses a halogen headlight with LED DRLs, and the setup is neatly integrated into a chrome bezel.

It uses the same twin-pod instrument console. It gets a fuel gauge, odometer, speedometer, neutral indicator, and a check engine light.

The most noticeable change has to be the inclusion of the fuel injection system. The air-cooled 109.7cc engine now makes 8.2PS of power and 8.7Nm of torque, 0.2PS less than the BS4 version.

The Radeon BS6 uses the same 10-litre fuel tank but the city range has gone up to 73.68kmpl while highway mileage stands at 68.6kmpl.

Overall, the bike has gained 4kg. Its 0-60kmph acceleration time has gone from 7.88 to 7.53 seconds.

There is no change in its commuter-motorcycle characteristics. The handling and suspension, which have been nothing short of impressive since the beginning, stay the same.

One place where the Radeon falls short is braking. We tested the variant with a 130mm drum brake and it lacked anchoring power. Hopefully, the 240mm front disc variant should overcome this hurdle.

The bike is suspended on a telescopic front fork and a pair of 5-step adjustable rear springs.

The soft seat works in the rider’s favour during city commutes but that changes as the saddle time increases.

The TVS Radeon BS6 is available in three variants: standard, special edition drum, and special edition disc. The asking price for the standard variant is set at Rs 59,962 while the special edition drum is priced at Rs 64,287 and the special edition disc at Rs 67,287.
