TVS Raider 125: Variants Explained

Update: TVS Rides In New SmartXonnect Variant Of Raider In Metaverse

Which one should you opt for?

TVS has re-entered the 125cc commuter space with much aplomb, courtesy the Raider 125. Those who have had the chance to swing a leg over it have come back raving and you can head here to know why. As an aside, TVS is offering the Raider 125 in three variants and in this story, we will explore them all and help pick the right one for you:

Front Drum: Rs 85,973(Ex-showroom Delhi)
This is the standard version of the TVS Raider 125, and sports a 130mm drum at both ends with mechanical CBS as standard. However, this version of the TVS Raider also comes replete with the LED headlight and full-digital dash, and still manages to undercut its competition, like the Honda SP125 and the Hero Glamour 125, by about a few thousand rupees.

Front Disc: Rs 93,489(Ex-showroom Delhi)
From the standard to this mid-spec Raider 125, the asking price jumps up by Rs 7,516. While that is a bit much to ask for better stopping power, we would still advise you to overlook the standard version for the extra safety this trim offers. Compared to its arch rivals, this particular model is pricier, though.

Honda CB200X: First Ride Review

Colour TFT SmartXonnect variant: Rs 99,990(Ex-showroom Delhi)
This top-spec version of the TVS Raider 125 gets a new five-inch fully digital TFT console with voice assist. It also gets Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation along with auto navigation feature, weather updates, music control, call/message notifications and alerts, sport and news updates.

Our pick: Front Disc version
The TVS Raider remains a 125cc commuter and even though the SmartXonnect version is a welcome addition, one can certainly live without it. And considering it is pricier than all other conventional 125cc bikes, perhaps even a few models of the regular Pulsar 125, we would rather you save the money for items like quality riding gear.
