TVS Sales For May 2021: Sales Slump Due To The Pandemic

Modified On Jun 25, 2021 01:00 PM By Pratik Bhanushali for TVS Apache RTR 160 4V

Just like all other two-wheeler brands, TVS too struggled during this lockdown period

Second month into the new financial year and TVS’ sales have nosedived. The Hosur-based brand’s sales report for May is in and it doesn’t paint a pretty picture.

Thanks to the localised lockdowns throughout May, the numbers have dropped even lower than April. Only the TVS Sport has a tad higher count (35 more units sold) than the previous month.

Scooter sales weren’t particularly high either, with the Jupiter raking in 6,153 units and the TVS XL 100 faring slightly better, with 7,135 units. On the other hand, the Apache range (Apache RTR 160, Apache RTR 160 4V, Apache RTR 180, Apache RTR 200 4V) registered good sales, clocking in 19,885 units.

While the TVS iQube Electric recorded no sales at all in May, that’s likely to change with the revised Fame 2 subsidy. The indigenous e-scooter has received a price cut and here’s how much you can save now
