TVS Sport BS6 Launched With Fuel-injection
Displacement, mileage and prices have all increased
The TVS Sport BS6 has been launched at a starting price of Rs 51,750 for the kick-start variant, while the electric start variant will sell for Rs 58,925. When compared to the BS4 versions, this updated bike is Rs 3,633 more expensive in the lower variant and a significant Rs 8,017 more in the higher variant.

And that’s because things are all-new on the engine front. While the previous versions were powered by a 99cc motor producing 7.48PS and 7.5Nm, the BS6 bike now sports a 109.7cc mill churning out 8.29PS and 8.7Nm. A big chunk of the price hike can be attributed to the addition of fuel-injection on this new engine, which is necessary to meet BS6 emission norms. The BS4 model used a carburettor. An additional catalytic converter has also been added to cut down on tailpipe emissions, and this has contributed to the increased price too.
As a result of these changes, TVS is claiming a 15 per cent increase in mileage, even though transmission continues to be a 4-speed affair. Other changes include an increase in weight by 1.5kg, ground clearance up from 170mm to 175mm, and the addition of tubeless tyres and LED DRLs.
Underpinnings continue to comprise of a telescopic fork and 5-step preload-adjustable monoshock, while braking is still handled by a 130mm/110mm drum brake combo with CBS.
Though this is the most affordable motorcycle in TVS’ lineup, it isn’t the most affordable vehicle from the Chennai manufacturer. That tag goes to the XL100 moped, which also received its BS6 update recently.
