TVS Star City Plus With Front Disc Brake Launched
The 2021 Edition is Rs 2,600 dearer than the drum brake-equipped variant
The TVS Star City Plus now gets a front 240mm petal disc as an option. Rest of the mechanicals are unchanged. Available only in Black-Red dual-tone colour.TVS recently teased a new variant of the Star City Plus, and just as we had predicted, the brand has introduced a front disc brake to the commuter motorcycle. Called the TVS Star City Plus 2021 Edition, it features a 240mm petal disc up front, similar to the Commuter Bike Of The Year variant of the TVS Radeon. The bike is priced at Rs 68,465 (ex-showroom Delhi), Rs 2,600 more than the front drum brake-equipped variant. TVS offers this model only in Black-Red dual-tone colour.
The front brake is linked to the rear 110mm drum with CBS for optimum safety. There are no other mechanical changes. It continues to be powered by a 109.7cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine, generating 8.19PS at 7350rpm and 8.7Nm at 4500rpm. TVS claims the motor offers 15 percent better mileage than the BS4-compliant carbureted engine.
The rest of the underpinnings, including the telescopic front fork, twin 5-step preload-adjustable rear-shock absorbers, and the 17-inch wheels with tubeless tyres, are all the same. It was the first motorcycle in the 110cc segment to get a full-LED headlamp. Other notable features include a semi-digital instrument cluster and a USB charging port near the console.
