TVS Victor BS6: What To Expect

Modified On May 22, 2020 09:55 AM By Zaran Mody for TVS Victor

Anything aside from a cleaner burning engine?

The only TVS commuter that hasn’t received a BS6 update yet is the 110cc Victor but don’t worry, it’s going to happen soon enough. Meanwhile, here’s what you can expect when the updated bike does arrive:

Motor Makeover

The 109.7cc motor will be retained but it will now be fed by a fuel-injection system rather than the carburettor it currently uses. The good news is that thanks to this new technology, fuel-efficiency should improve by a fair margin, but it is likely that power output may fall slightly. For reference, the Radeon BS6 which uses largely the same motor puts out 8.19PS at 7350rpm and 8.7Nm at 4500rpm.

Fancy Features

To help justify the inevitable price hike, it’s quite likely that TVS will throw in a few extra features on the Victor BS6. We could see an LED headlight or at the very least some new LED DRLs on the updated bike, and the addition of fuel-injection also means that TVS can choose to throw in its Glide Through Technology (GTT). This system sprays a little extra fuel into the combustion chamber at low rpm to prevent the motor from lugging and help you trundle through traffic without any accelerator input.

A New Look?

While we’re not expecting a radical wardrobe makeover on the updated bike, it is possible that TVS could throw in some fresh new graphics schemes to help tell the BS6 bike apart from its BS4 counterpart.

Unchanged Underpinnings

The single-downtube frame holding the Victor together will be carried over unchanged, and it will continue to be suspended on a conventional telescopic fork and 5-step preload-adjustable twin shock absorbers. We expect a front disc brake to be offered as an option, just like before, and ABS will continue to be absent with only CBS on offer.

Variants & Pricing

Thanks to the addition of fuel-injection, expect a price hike in the region of Rs 6,000 to Rs 8,000 over the current bike which retails for Rs 56,622 to Rs 59,602. There will be a base variant equipped with drum brakes, above which there will be a disc brake variant and sitting on top of the chain will be a premium edition with a special paint scheme and a front disc brake.
