Malayali actor and Ultraviolette’s investor Dulquer Salmaan himself unveiled the electric bike!

Ultraviolette, the Indian electric vehicle startup based out of Bangalore took to the stage at EICMA 2023 to unveil their Ultraviolette F99 Factory Racing Platform, the fastest made in India electric motorcycle. Malayalam film star Dulquer Salmaan was also present during the event and took part in the unveiling; he was one of the earliest investors in Ultraviolette.

The Ultraviolette F99 is a revolutionary electric motorcycle and comes with a whole set of never seen before features. The bike comes with a liquid-cooled motor that delivers peak power of90kW. It has an incredible claimed top speed of 265kmph, and is able to accelerate from 0-100 in just 3 seconds according to the manufacturer.

The design of the bike has taken inspiration from supersonic jets and the principles that are used in them. This has given the bike winglets and ducts on the front cowl and side panels, and also at the rear end.

The bike also gets active aero elements as part of its ‘active aerodynamics’. The winglets on the side panel which are electronically actuated in real time to adapt as per lean angles. This enhances downward force during cornering similar to how flaps in a real aeroplane wing would function. The bike gets 120/70 R17 tyres at front and 180/55 R17 tyres at the rear, coupled with a USD front fork and monoshock suspension in the rear. The bike’s kerb weight comes to 178kg, making it 29kg lighter than the Ultraviolette F77.

Ultraviolette says the global commercial launch of the (production-spec) F99 is scheduled to happen in 2025. It could come at a price of Rs. 8 Lakh(ex-showroom)

Ultraviolette also announced the launch of the F77 in Europe, with the price being set at 9,000 to 11,000 Euros which comes to around Rs. 8 lakh to Rs 9.20 lakh. The international spec variant is similar to the F77 space edition that was launched in August of this year. The manufacturer also announced that bookings for the same will happen from 15th of November 2023.
