UM Motorcycles opens 22 Dealerships across India
UM Motorcycles started bookings of its Renegade range of cruiser motorcycles at their launch during the 2016 Auto Expo. Now the company has listed 22 dealerships on its website, from where it is going to start deliveries of all the 3 Renegade motorcycles soon. UM has also uploaded a picture of the map of India which displays its dealerships across the country on social media. The map shows more than 25 dealerships in different cities, however, a few of them haven't been listed on its website.
UM Motorcycles launched the Renegade Commando, Renegade Sport S and Renegade Classic at the Auto Expo with price tags of Rs. 1.59 lac, Rs. 1.49 lac and Rs. 1.69 lac (all ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. The company has been able to sell the Renegade at a very competitive price point as it has tied up with an Indian automobile firm- Lohia. UM is planning to export these made in India models to theUK, France and South East Asian markets as well.
All the 3 motorcycles in the UM Renegade range are based on one platform and the only difference between them are cosmetic changes. The bikes are powered by a 279cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that has been tuned to develop 24.8bhp of maximum power at 8,500rpm and a peak torque of 21.8Nm at 7,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox which will come in handy while cruising on the highway.
The 17" front wheel of the Renegade comes with a 100/70 section tyre and the rear 15" wheel gets a 140/90 section tyre. It gets a 280mm disc brake up front and a a drum brake at the rear. The suspension set-up comprises of telescopic front forks and spring loaded dual shock absorbers at the rear. These motorcycles have a large fuel tank of 18-litres and have a kerb weight of 172 kg.
