Husqvarna branding will be introduced at most KTM dealerships from mid-October
The India-spec Vitpilen 401 was spotted a couple of months ago. There were a few changes spotted on the Indian-spec model. Both bikes will be BS6-compliant.Get ready for your dosage of Swedish premiumness as Husqvarna will be introducing its 401 twins in India soon enough. So soon that some KTM dealerships have unofficially begun accepting bookings for the Vitpilen 401 and the Svartpilen 401. A token booking amount of Rs 5,000 is being accepted by a few outlets.
KTM officials had earlier told us that it was unlikely we would be seeing the 401 twins in India anytime before 2020. However, the new course of action seems to be that these bikes will be brought by the end of the year. KTM dealerships will be rebranding its outlets with a special section dedicated to the Husqvarna motorcycles from mid-October 2019. This unique section will be similar to when KTM dealerships used to sell Kawasaki motorcycles.
The last we saw any update about the 401 twins was when an Indian-spec Vitpilen 401 was spotted in camouflage. Unlike the bikes sold abroad, the Vitpilen 401 here was seen with a host of changes, including the engine being updated to BS6 emission norms.
It seems like the Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 will be launched in early December at a special event. Expect the Vitpilen 401 to come bearing a price tag of Rs 3 lakh - Rs 3.2 lakh (ex-showroom). We will be bringing more details on the launch of the brand in India soon.
