This week has been an exciting one, with many launches, updates and other exciting news. Let’s take a look at the interesting developments that happened so far.

Ola

The week started with announcing deliveries of the new S1 Pro 2nd Gen in over 100 cities, the new scooter features a complete design overhaul that brings many changes like a new suspension set up, reduced weight and improved overall range. The scooter is now able to clock a top speed of 120 kmph with a range of 195 km. 

Ola Electric also announced the launch of Bharat EV fest promising exciting benefits for customers such as lucrative discounts, extended warranties and attractive exchange offers. The aim of this fest is promoting the usage and adoption of EVs.

TVS Jupiter SmartXonnect Version Launched

TVS added a new variant of the Jupiter 125 to its Jupiter portfolio, known as the SmartXonnet variant, which features a wide range of tech features that come with the TVS SmartXonnect such as turn by turn navigation, call and message alerts and even news/social media updates.

The SmartXonnect variant comes in 2 new colour options, Elegant Red and Matte Copper Bronze and prices start at Rs. 96,855(ex-showroom Delhi)

Electric Motorcycles

This week was certainly eventful for Electric Motorcycles with new updates being released by manufacturers. The first one being Tork Motors introduceding a new riding mode called Eco+ for the Tork Kratos R that extends the claimed range of the flagship electric motorcycle to 150km. The best part about this update is that it is not limited to new purchases; it will also be available for existing owners of the Tork Kratos R.

The second update we saw this week was from Revolt Motors, with the RV400  getting a special edition known as the ‘India Blue’ which bring a new glossy blue paint scheme for the motorcycle. This will be a limited-edition model, and will be sold on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis.

Honda CB300R Price Cut

Honda’s CB300R is neo-retro cafe racer that is treated as an affordable entry level motorcycle in the international market, but in India the bike didn’t have much success as it was priced higher than its competitors like the Duke 250

But now Honda has updated the pricing, reducing it by a massive margin of Rs 37,000 less than before. Now the motorcycle costs Rs 2.40 lakh ex-showroom making it more competitive with the other offerings in the segment like the TVS Apache RTR 310. 

Royal Enfield’s buyback program

Other than launches and updates, an interesting announcement came from Royal Enfield. The manufacturer has launched a buyback program in partnership with OTO Capital that offers customers up to 45 percent lower EMIs and boasts of a guaranteed buyback value of up to 77 percent (of the original price of the vehicle) depending on the tenure according to Royal Enfield.
