Weird Flex - Is This The Kawasaki ZX-5R?
The Xinshiji Finja 500 will retail at half the price of the Kawasaki Ninja 300 BS6!
The Chinese have done it again! While brands like Benda are building original motorcycles that could make the Europeans sweat, the other end of the spectrum has been blatantly rolling out ripoffs of some respectable motorcycles. This time, we have the Xinshiji Finja 500 -- a bike that could easily pass as a 2020 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R at first glance .
However, instead of the 998cc, liquid-cooled inline-four screamer on the ZX-10R, the Finja comes with a modest 500cc parallel-twin lump . Though the performance numbers are unknown, it is unlikely to generate more than 50PS. The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, on the other hand, is rated at 203PS.
Credit where it’s due, though, Xinshiji has done a brilliant job of aping the WSBK champ aesthetically. Right from the paintjob and the livery to details like the mirror-mounted indicators, the parking light housed in the ram air intake and even the console seem straight off the last-generation Ninja ZX-10R.
The Finja 500 even goes on to have the same twin-spar chassis (likely to be just a cover over the actual frame). Heck, it even sports a faux reservoir seen on the Showa Balance Free Fork from the original ZX-10R. That said, the Finja sports some (hopefully) original equipment like the wheels, exhaust and the LED headlight.
The Xinshiji Finja 500 is available only in China for approximately Rs 1.46 lakh. All said and done, that is incredible value for a 500cc twin-cylinder bike and just like this clone, only a Chinese brand could have pulled off that pricing. This bike is amongst the many ridiculous copies, including the Chimalayan that are floating around in the Chinese market. Now, though the Finja 500 will not come here, we already have the Kawasaki Ninja 300’s doppelganger in the market-- the Kabira Mobility KM 3000.
