Weird Flex: Meet The Chinese Lookalike Of Honda CB300R

Modified On Dec 19, 2021 09:55 AM By Team Bikedekho for Honda CB300R

CB300R's Chinese doppelganger features a 350cc engine and is priced at Rs 2.72 lakh

Shengshi, a Chinese bike maker, has launched a neo-retro naked motorcycle named the GK350. The GK350 sports a similar design as the Honda CB300R carrying a neo-retro charm. The Chinese neo-retro naked is priced at 22,800 yuan (around Rs 2.72 lakh) while we expect the CB300R BS6 to cost around Rs 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom).

To further give it a rugged appeal, the Chinese bike maker has bestowed the GK350 with an engine protector, underbelly pan, and wider rubber at both ends. The Shengshi GK350 also features a circular LED headlight with DRL, a single-piece step-up seat, and circular mirrors.

While Shengshi may have inspired the design of the GK350 from the CB300R it has compensated for the lack of creativity by making sure the bike is loaded with modern features. The neo-retro naked comes equipped with a keyless start, powered fuel tank cover, backlit switches, automatic backlit adjustment, tyre pressure monitoring system, and a Bluetooth-enabled LCD instrument cluster that displays navigation.

Powering the Shengshi GK350 is a 350cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that churns out 39.43PS and 32.8Nm which is 8.33PS and 5.3Nm more compared to the 31.1PS and 27.5Nm that the CB300R's 286cc liquid-cooled heart delivers. The GK350 also sports a dual-port exhaust whose design seems quite similar to the one seen on the MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RR.

The ride quality is taken care of by a 43mm USD fork up front and a monoshock at the rear. Meanwhile, for braking, it employs a disc at both ends assisted by dual-channel ABS. Oh, and it even gets spoke wheels with tubeless tyres ensuring a good balance of looks and versatility.

All in all, even though the GK350 seems to have borrowed design elements from different motorcycles, it has come together rather nicely. Moreover, the presence of modern features makes the motorcycle a well-rounded product.
