Weird Flex: This Fat Bob Has Skipped Breakfast
Harley-Davidson Fat Bob-lookalike 2021 Ruilong JSX900i has been launched In China
The Ruilong JSX900i is a 900cc V-twin modern cruiser. Loaded to the brim with features such as TFT console, adjustable suspension, and more. Costs as much as the India-spec Kawasaki Vulcan S.Chinese manufacturer Xiang Shuai Heavy Motorcycle is well-known for making Harley lookalikes. If you can recall, we had covered one of their bikes, the JS700, before. Now one of the dopplegangers, called the 2021 Ruilong JSX900i, has been launched in the country at CNY 53,800, around Rs 6.13 lakh.
As the name suggests, the Ruilong JSX900i is a 900cc liquid-cooled V-twin-powered cruiser. Its motor churns out a rather dull 61.1PS at 7000rpm and 63Nm at 5500rpm. To give you some perspective, the original Harley-Davidson Fat Bob’s humongous 1,868cc air-cooled V-twin churns out a tarmac-warping 155Nm at 3000rpm and 93.8PS at 5020rpm. The engine in the Chinese clone uses a radiator with Panasonic fans. The motor works alongside a 6-speed transmission, ironically linked to a Gates belt drive imported from the USA. At 170kmph, the claimed top speed is good enough for highway touring. This coupled with the 20-litre fuel tank, easy-going ergonomics and the large windshield should ensure excellent mile-munching capabilities.
Though the engine is anaemic, the motorcycle makes up for the lack of go with plenty of modern features. It comes with a large smartphone-compatible 7-inch TFT instrument cluster. Other noteworthy features include a USB charging port, illuminated switchgear with keyless ignition. A lot of Chinese motorcycles have ugly exposed wires but the wiring on this motorcycle is optimised for a clean look.

For optimum braking prowess, the twin front discs are grabbed by a pair of Nissin radial calipers, and there’s a disc at the rear as well. The brand has equipped the cruiser with a proper dual-channel ABS. Tipping the scales at 260kg, the motorcycle is fairly light for a 900cc cruiser. Its 720mm tall seat should also be accessible enough for shorter riders. Oh, and of course, the lighting system is all-LED.
All in all, the Ruilong JSX900i more than makes up for the uninspiring performance with an excellent set of features to play the part of a quintessential modern cruiser. We just wish the manufacturer spent more resources in its design department to come up with something as unique as its Chinese counterpart Benda does.
