Modified On Jul 31, 2015 12:00 AM By Pradeep Shah for Honda CBR650F

Gradually, the Indian two-wheeler industry is ascending towards adoption of entry-level and mid-weight performance motorcycles. Therefore, Honda has scheduled the launch of its most anticipated supersport plus tourer – CBR650F on 4th August. It will be the highest displacement bike by the company to be assembled in India and is expected to be priced around Rs. 8 lac, which will make it a close competition for Kawasaki Z800, Triumph Speed Triple and Monster 796. On the other hand, Benelli 600i and 600GT with its smart specification list and low price tag competes very well with this new ranger from Honda. Let’s find out what all belongs to upcoming Honda CBR650F.

Appearance

Honda CBR 650F sports a sharp single headlamp section that offers ample of vision in dark and low light conditions.  The majestic full front fairing conveys a message of out-of-the-box styling and eye soothing visuals. The short and trimmed four-into-one exhaust setup sounds and looks really fascinating, giving a throaty grunt to rush the adrenaline.  The bare athletic rear shows off the fat rear tyre quite impressively and gives a handsome stance.

Engine

Powered by a 649cc, in-line four cylinder, four-stroke, liquid-cooled motor, the CBR 650F puts out a peak power of 85.8bhp at 11,000rpm along with a maximum torque of 63Nm at 8,000rpm. The refined Honda powerplant comes mated to a six-speed transmission system and uses wet multiplate clutch assembly. Like most of the Honda motorcycles, this one has also been assisted with PGM-Fi (Programmed Fuel Injection System) that offers a smoother engine performance and seamless power delivery. The Double OverHead Cam (DOHC) Engine has been given a four-valve per cylinder configuration to make the most out of it.

Chassis

Honda CBR 650F sits on a steel diamond frame that gives a commendable dimensional stability.  The suspension system comprises of 41mm telescopic forks upfront and five-step adjustable monoshock at the rear to conquer the terrains with ease. The braking is done with the help of 320mm dual disc brakes at the front and 240mm single disc brake at the rear. A two-channel Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) further refines the braking even more and offers stability under aggressive braking conditions.  The Japanese beauty runs on 120/70ZR-17 front and 180/55ZR-17 rear tubeless tyres that comes mounted over robust aluminium alloy wheels.

Price

Honda CBR 650F has been assembled domestically, due to which it should come with a competitive price tag. However, as per our sources, the bike is rumoured to be priced at a whopping Rs. 8 lac, which is quite high in comparison to its segment rivals. The exact price will be revealed at the launch and we hope that the bike do not put too much economic stress on the Indian buyers.
