[UPDATE: Yamaha has launched the FZ-X in India. Check out our launch story for the price, specs and other details.]
Yamaha India has revealed that the FZ-X will be launched over a virtual event at 11:00am on June 18, 2021.
This news comes a little over a month after the production model of the FZ-X was spotted in the Himalayas during a commercial shoot, revealing essential information about the bike. Check out the spy shots in our story.
The new retro bike is expected to give Yamaha’s FZ lineup a new lease of life, thanks to its Yamaha XSR155-inspired styling. However, the bike is expected to feature the same engine and underpinnings as the FZ-S Fi V3. For full details, check out what we know about the FZ-X so far.
We expect the bike to retail at Rs 1.14 lakh (ex-showroom), about Rs 10,000 more than the FZ-S Fi. It will be the only retro bike in its segment. But given its price bracket, it will also rival the Honda X-Blade, the Bajaj Pulsar NS160 and the TVS Apache RTR 160. Considering the popularity of retro bikes in our country, the FZ-X could be the perfect stepping stone into the world of retro motorcycling.
