Yamaha FZS-FI v3 Dark Knight Gets Bluetooth Connectivity

Modified On Oct 16, 2020 03:12 PM By Team Bikedekho for Yamaha FZS-FI V3

Comes at a premium of  Rs 2,500. It is offered as an accessory on the standard variants.

Packs security features like e-lock and hazard lamps. Features ride telemetry like average speed, battery voltage and distance. All Yamaha products will feature bluetooth connectivity in the future.

Yamaha India has launched the FZS-FI v3 with Bluetooth connectivity at Rs 1.07 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Dubbed “Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X,” the feature is exclusive to the Dark Knight variant at the moment. However, it can be added as an accessory to the Yamaha FZ-FI and FZS-FI BS6 variants at a premium of Rs 3,000. Yamaha intends to add this feature to its entire two wheeler portfolio in the country. The updated FZS-FI Dark Knight will hit showrooms from November 1, 2020.

With the Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X app, available for Android and iOS platforms, the rider can register the bike with two simple steps and access its six main features with a  smartphone. The app gets a security feature like E-Lock that enables the rider to set a combination to unlock the motorcycle, preventing theft. Then there's the "Answer Back" feature where the bike's indicators and horn will beep twice. Going one step further, engaging the "Locate My Bike" feature will illuminate the indicators and horn beep twice. Engaging the ‘Locate My Bike’ feature illuminates the indicators continuously for ten seconds, making it easy to spot your bike at busy parking spots.

Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X app also features ride telemetry, a la TVS’ SmartXonnect app, displaying details like the number of times brakes were applied during a ride, battery voltage, average speed and distance. The app also stores the individual ride history to view later along with the parked location and parking history.

After TVS, and more recently Suzuki Motorcycles India, Yamaha India too has joined the connectivity bandwagon. And despite offering some unique features, Yamaha’s system doesn’t have the provision of turn-by-turn navigation yet. Maybe they’re saving that for a future update?
