Yamaha R15 V3 & MT-15 Prices Hiked
This is the second price hike for both the bikes in the last three months
Price hike seems to be the flavour of this monsoon season. Soon after TVS hiked the prices of its NTorq 125, Yamaha has now gone and done the same. Prices for the Yamaha R15 V3 and the MT-15 have been bumped up by RS 2,100 and Rs 1,000 respectively. The updated price for the Yamaha R15 V3 is Rs 1.48 lakh for the thunder grey shade while the matte balck version retails for Rs 1.50 lakh. As for the Yamaha MT-15 B6, the black and blue colour options carry a price tag of Rs 1.39 lakh and the white shade carries an additional premium of Rs 1,000. (All prices are ex-showroom).

Yamaha hasn’t shared the exact reason for the price hike and it was done silently on its official website. The Japanese brand had increased prices of both motorcycles in May, but the price hike was Rs 1,000 for the R15 and Rs 500 for the MT-15. Despite the hike in price, the Yamaha R15 V3 remains a great option for riders looking forward to buying an entry-level performance bike. Apart from the brilliant performance of the 155cc motor, the handling dynamics of the Deltabox frame make it a great learner’s bike. The R15 and the MT-15 are the only bikes in their respective segment to get VVA (variable valve actuation) tech.

Apart from the difference in styling, the MT-15 features a box swingarm and single-channel ABS, while the R15 gets a premium cast swingarm and dual-channel ABS as standard. The Yamaha R15 competes against the KTM RC 125 and the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200. The MT-15 faces competition from the KTM 125 Duke and the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.
