There is quite a bit of difference between the Thailand-spec model and the one we get here. For starters, the international-spec bike comes with USD forks as standard. Additionally, the India-spec model tips the scale at 142kg as opposed to the Thai-spec model’s 137kg.
As of now, Yamaha India offers the R15 V3.0 in three different colours - grey, blue and black. We expect, Yamaha to bring the new colours and graphics here in the near future. We also expect the company to introduce the MotoGP edition of the R15 in the coming months as well.
Powering the motorcycle is still the same 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with VVT (variable valve technology). It produces 19.3PS of power at 10,000rpm and 14.7Nm of torque at 8500rpm. A 6-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch is offered as standard. It is also the only 150cc motorcycle in India to come equipped with dual-channel ABS. It’s primary rival, the KTM RC 125 only gets a single-channel ABS unit despite being more expensive.
