The new Yamaha YZF-R7 has been showcased at the Auto Expo 2025 in Delhi. Earlier, the bike was also displayed at a dealer’s event. The R7 is a fully-faired sportbike that comes from Yamaha's sporty R-family. Its design is inspired by the Yamaha YZF-R6 and the YZF-R1.

What does the Yamaha YZF-R7 get?

The Yamaha YZF-R7 is equipped with the same 689cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that makes a peak output of 73.4PS at 8,750rpm and 67Nm at 6,500rpm. The engine comes paired to a 6-speed gearbox, along with a slip-and-assist clutch. There is also an upshift-only quickshifter available as an optional feature.

The R7 comes equipped with a 5-inch TFT instrument cluster, with smartphone connectivity for call/SMS alerts and navigation. Both bikes come with electronic throttle, switchable traction control, wheelie control and riding modes.

The Yamaha YZF-R7 gets a twin-spar aluminium frame. Both Yamaha bikes are equipped with a fully adjustable 41mm KYB inverted fork and a link-type monoshock, which is adjustable for both preload and rebound damping. The middleweight Japanese bike come with 298mm dual disc at the front and 245mm disc brakes at the front, with switchable dual-channel ABS. It is fitted with 17-inch alloy wheels, wrapped with 120-section front and 180-section rear tubeless tyres. 

Yamaha YZF-R7 Expected Price & Launch Date:

The Yamaha YZF-R7 is expected to be launched in the Indian market by the end of 2025. The R7 could be priced somewhere around Rs 9 lakh -10 lakh (ex-showroom) mark. 

Yamaha YZF-R7 & MT-07 Rivals:

The Yamaha YZF-R7 competes with the other 600-650cc sportbikes including the 2025 Honda CBR650R, Triumph Daytona 660 and the Kawasaki Ninja 650.
