Yezdi Motorcycles’ Comeback Officially Announced
The new Yezdi Roadking could debut as early as next week
The iconic Yezdi Motorcycle brand has been in the limelight lately. There has been a lot going on, from trademark filings for the upcoming motorcycles to numerous spy shots of the test mules. But there was no word from the brand itself or from Classic Legends...until now.
It is finally official. The Czech brand is returning to India, confirmed in a series of tweets from Anupam Thareja of Classic Legends, followed by a 'Public Notice' from Jawa, before dropping a teaser on Yezdi's official handle.
Don't get your hopes high just yet. The teaser only shows off the original Yezdi Roadking, though the 2022 avatar seems to be ready to roll out. We reckon Yezdi's comeback will be a grand affair, just like Classic Legends did with Jawa.
The company may introduce the 2022 Yezdi Roadking and the yet-to-be-named Yezdi ADV as early as November 15 and even announce the prices. However, the motorcycles will only make it to the showrooms in 2022.
The new Yezdis will share their engines with the current Jawa lineup. While the Roadking will likely use the 293cc liquid-cooled engine -- producing 27.33PS and 27.02Nm -- from the Jawa and Forty-Two, the ADV could use the Jawa Perak's 334cc motor belting out 30.64PS and 32.74Nm.
The Yezdi Roadking is expected to be priced at around Rs 1.75 lakh, offering a fresh alternative to the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250. On the other hand, the Yezdi ADV will fight for domination with the Royal Enfield Himalayan, and it could be priced at around Rs 1.90 lakh, undercutting the RE by Rs 20,000.
