Zongshen Cyclone RE3 Scrambler Launched in China
New variant of the Zongshen Cyclone RE3 is priced at an equivalent of Rs Rs 3.75 lakh
Zongshen has launched the Scrambler Edition of the RE3 in China, called the Climbing Edition. The new variant of the retro-styled roadster has received both mechanical and cosmetic updates, and is much more trail-friendly than the standard model. The Scrambler model is available in two variants, and if the translation is right, they’re called Modern Climbing Version, priced at 31,980 yuan (around Rs 3.75 lakh), and Jazz Climbing Version, priced at 33,980 yuan (around Rs 3.99 lakh).
The updates to the motorcycle include taller handlebars (by a massive 170mm) to further aid the off-road riding triangle, a single piece straight seat with improved cushion, high-set exhaust, and improved ground clearance (from 140mm to 220mm). Even the suspension has been tweaked as the front shock absorber stroke has been increased to 130mm. Additionally, the bike also gets a shorter front mudguard, dual purpose tubeless tyres and the front spoke wheel size has gone up from 17-inch to an 18-inch unit.
The Zongshen Cyclone RE3 Climbing Edition is powered by a 401cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that churns out 42.8PS and 34Nm. In comparison, the Yezdi Scrambler’s 334cc engine makes 29.1PS and 28.2Nm.
The ride of the bike is taken care of by USD fork at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear. Meanwhile, for braking, it mounts twin disc brakes up front with radial calipers, and a disc at the rear, assisted by dual-channel ABS.
The Scrambler is offered in a choice of three colours: Windsor Red, Swallowtail Grey, and Fanxing Blue. If you’re looking for a proper trail-friendly scrambler in India, the just-launched Yezdi Scrambler is your best bet.
