What is the engine capacity of the Speed 400?
As the name suggests, the Speed 400 uses an all-new 398.15cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. It produces 40PS at 8000rpm and 37.5Nm at 6500rpm, working in conjunction with a 6-speed transmission with a slip-and-assist clutch. Triumph offers a generous 16,000km service interval on the Speed 400.
What features does the Speed 400 get?
The Triumph Speed 400 features LED lighting, sleek bar-end mirrors,adjustable levers, convenient switchable traction control, and Bosch dual-channel ABS. While its semi-digital instrument cluster does not include smartphone connectivity or navigation, it offers a wealth of information such as a gear position indicator, distance-to-empty readout, and useful tell-tale lights. Additionally, it provides a USB-C port for charging electronic devices mounted on the handlebar. Triumph also offers a range of accessories for the Speed 400, including heated grips, LED indicators, and luggage options, all backed by a generous two-year, unlimited mileage warranty.
What are the specifications of the Speed 400?
The Speed 400 is built on a hybrid spine/perimeter tubular steel frame, which houses the engine. The rear subframe is bolted onto this frame, and the front suspension features a 43mm inverted Big Piston Fork, offering 130mm of wheel travel. At the rear, there's a gas-charged monoshock with preload adjustability, and offers 120mm of wheel travel. The motorcycle rides on 17-inch aluminium alloy wheels, fitted with Vredestein radial tyres. Braking power is provided by a 300mm disc at the front with a radial calliper, and a 230mm disc at the rear, both manufactured by ByBre. The seat height is 803mm and a 13 litre fuel tank.

The 2025 Speed 400 is priced at Rs 2,40,000(ex-showroom, Delhi) which is more expensive by Rs 5,503. The 2025 model gets 4 new colours, Vredestein radial tyres, a thicker seat and adjustable levers over the previous model.
How is the Speed 400 different from the Speed T4?
The Speed 400 shares its engine with the new Speed T4 but offers higher performance, producing 40.5PS and 37.5Nm of torque, which is 9.5PS and 1.5Nm more than the T4. Both motorcycles come equipped with 17-inch wheels, but the Speed 400 has a wider 150-section rear tyre compared to the 140-section tyre on the T4. The Speed 400 is fitted with Vredestein radial tyres, whereas the T4 uses MRF Zapper-FX2 tyres. Additional features on the Speed 400 include a thicker seat cushion and adjustable levers.
