Originally priced for Rs 2,17,000, the Speed T4 is now available for just Rs 1,99,000 (All prices ex-showroom, Delhi). Let’s have a look at what makes the Speed T4 different from the Speed 400:
Design
The Triumph Speed T4 is based upon the Triumph Speed 400 and carries the same silhouette. It gets a neo-retro design which is complemented by a round LED headlight, tear-drop shaped fuel tank and a slim tail section, making the motorcycle look quite sporty.
Engine and Underpinnings
The Triumph Speed T4 is powered by the same 398.15cc liquid-cooled single–cylinder engine as the Speed 400. The T4’s engine makes 31PS at 7,000rpm and 36Nm at 5,000rpm, which is 9PS and 1.5Nm less than that of the Speed 400. It’s paired with a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. The suspension setup includes a telescopic fork and a monoshock, braking duties are handled by a 300mm disc at the front and a 230mm disc at the rear with dual-channel ABS. The bike rides on 17-inch wheels on both ends and gets a seat height of 806mm. It has a 13-litre fuel tank and weighs in at 180kg kerb.
Features
The Speed T4 gets a semi-digital instrument cluster which includes an LCD screen and an analogue speedometer. The LCD screen displays basic information such as a fuel gauge, trip meters, tachometer and a gear position indicator. The motorcycle gets all-LED lighting and has an USB charging port for added convenience.
Rivals
The Triumph Speed T4 goes against the likes of Hero Mavrick 440, Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z, Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and the Honda CB350RS.
