Avenger Cruise 220 Expert Review
Overview
The Bajaj Avenger 200 Cruise is the flagship cruiser offering from Bajaj. The bike has received a few subtle changes here and there to keep the bike fresh and relevant over the years. Here’s how it fares in the real world.
Design
The Avenger 220 Cruise comes with an authentic cruiser design. It features low-slung looks, a raked out front combined with an extended wheelbase. Bajaj has also given the bike chrome accents along the spoke wheels which makes the bike look like a proper American cruiser.
Engine, Mileage & Performance
Powering the Avenger Cruise is a 220cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled, fuel injected engine with a 5-speed transmission that produces 19.03PS and 17.55Nm. The engine has decent levels of refinement and offers a smooth riding experience when cruising down the highways.
Handling & Ride Quality
The Avenger 220 Cruise is suspended on a telescopic front fork and twin rear shock absorbers. It is able to handle most bumps and potholes without any issues. Braking duties are handled by a 280mm front disc and a 130mm rear drum with single-channel ABS.
A raked-out front which ensures that the bike is stable on highways. However, this makes the bike less agile in the city and its turning radius can be a bit too wide. The good news is that the Avenger is reasonably light at 163kg kerb and it makes handling the motorcycle easy. The seat height is an accessible 737mm and that makes it easy to move around in tight parking spaces. It also offers a decent 169mm ground clearance.
Comfort
The Avenger provides a comfortable riding experience thanks to the easy to reach handlebars, forward set footpegs and well cushioned seat. The pillion comfort is ensured by the cushioned backrest.
Aside from this, the low seat height and manageable kerb weight makes the bike perfect for shorter riders.
Features
The Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise features a large windshield, typical of cruisers and features a lot of chrome elements along with spoke rims giving it a premium look overall. The instrument cluster is a fully digital unit that displays speed and fuel levels along with other readouts like odometer, tripmeter, clock and also a service due reminder.
The disappointing bit is that the Avenger 220 misses out on smartphone connectivity and Bajaj isn’t offering it even as an option. The bike is equipped with LED DRLs but the headlight, tail light and indicators are still bulb units.
Should you buy
If you are looking for a cruiser that is budget friendly, while also combining both style and comfort then the Avenger Cruise 220 is a great choice. The only drawback is the lack of smartphone connectivity. Currently, it is the most affordable cruiser offering in India after its small sibling the Bajaj Avenger 160 Street.
Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 Pros and Cons

If you're someone who loves to travel long distances then this bike is the king. Milaege :- 40kmpl average Comfort :- good comfort but with custom seat its even better. Riding posture :- it gives true cruiser riding posture , you wouldn't feel tired even after long rides. My dad has spinal and cervical issues but still he goes on long rides twice a year and this bike never makes your back hurt. Cons :- service of bajaj is bad , it depends on the service centre but i have visited 4 different S.c in delhi ncr and my experience was bad. So have an after market guy who can service your bike.
