Bajaj Avenger 220 Street

The SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers) sales data for Bajaj Auto for  January 2024 is out, and here's how many Avenger 220 were sold.

After a long hiatus, Bajaj has brought back the Avenger Street 220 Street. Know more about it here. The Avenger 220 Street looks similar to the Avenger 160 Street, with the same design elements, complete with alloy wheels. As its name suggests, the cruiser is a street-oriented variant of the swankier Avenger 220 Cruise.

Price:

The Bajaj Avenger 220 Street is priced at Rs 1,43,373 (ex-showroom Delhi), and is available in two colour schemes: Ebony Black and Spicy Red.

Features:

Bajaj has equipped the Avenger Street with a circular halogen headlight with LED DRL, a small cowl (as opposed to a large flyscreen in the cruiser variant) up front, a black alloy grab rail instead of a chrome pillion backrest, and a single-pod digital instrument cluster. That said, there’s no smartphone connectivity.

Engine:

The Avenger 220 Street uses the same 220cc air-cooled, BS6.2-compliant, fuel-injected engine as the Avenger Cruise 220, making an identical 19.03PS at 8500rpm and 17.55Nm at 7000rpm. It works alongside a 5-speed transmission.

Suspension And Brakes:

The Avenger 220 Street uses a telescopic fork, twin 5-step preload-adjustable rear shock absorbers, 280mm disc, 130mm drum, with single-channel ABS. It rolls on 17-inch front and 15-inch rear alloy wheels wrapped in 90-section front and 130-section tubeless tyres respectively. The 220cc cruiser weighs 160kg kerb.

Rivals:

The Avenger 220 Street is among the most affordable cruisers in India, undercut only by its smaller 160cc sibling. Besides, cruisers offering similar performance, like the Keeway K-Light 250V, are almost twice as expensive. Other options at a similar price bracket are the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.
