The BMW F 900 GS is available in a total of 4 different colour options. The F 900 GS has two colours: São Paulo Yellow and Lightwhite/Racing Blue Metallic, and the F 900 GS Adventure comes in Black Storm Metallic and White Aluminium Matt colours.

Can I use the BMW F 900 GS and GSA for my daily commutes in the city?

Yes, you can use the BMW F 900 GS and GSA for your daily commutes, as the ADVs are suitable for Indian roads and take on bumps and potholes. However, with the big 21-inch front and 19-inch wheels, they are not as practical as street fighters and roadsters. Both ADVs have a long turning radius. They may heat up in the traffic because of the higher compression. The F 900 GS and the F 900 GSA are powered by the same 895cc, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine that delivers a peak output of 105PS at 8500rpm and 93Nm at 6750rpm, which means it has enough power and grunt to ride in the city and overtake effortlessly. 

Can I do off-roading with the BMW F 900 GS and GSA?

The BMW F 900 GS and the F 900 GS Adventure are capable off-roaders. Both can handle bad roads very well. They have the same 43mm Showa inverted fork with 230mm suspension travel and a preload-adjustable monoshock with 215mm suspension travel which should absorb all the bumps, potholes, and even the jumps, nicely. These have 21-inch front and 19-inch rear wheels, which should make it easy over rough roads. 

It’s important to note that while both bikes can handle off-road challenges, the BMW GS, being lighter and slimmer, would likely be more enjoyable for trail riding. In contrast, the GSA is primarily designed for cross-country riding. 

What features do the BMW F 900 GS and GSA get?

The BMW F 900 GS and F 900 GS Adventure are fitted with a large 6.5-inch TFT display, offering smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth for music and navigation controls. Both bikes come with two riding modes: Road and Rain. Additional features on the ADVs include cruise control, heated grips, and adjustable brake, clutch, and gear levers. They also feature all-LED lighting and USB charging ports for rider convenience.

Are the BMW F 900 GS and GSA suitable for shorter riders?

The BMW F 900 GS and GSA are proper adventure bikes, which means they are tall too. The BMW F 900 GS has a 870mm seat height while the F 900 GSA has a seat height of 875mm, both of which are on the taller side. So, shorter riders will have problems while placing their feet on the ground, but riders of average height would probably have to tip-toe to reach the ground.

Is the BMW F 900 GS worth buying?

The BMW F 900 GS and F 900 GSA are now Rs 80k and Rs 1 lakh more expensive than the outgoing BMW F 800 GS and GSA. However, they get a new, bigger 895cc engine, better features and a significant weight reduction. All of this, and more, make the price hike seem quite reasonable. If you are looking for a capable ADV that comes feature-packed, can handle bad roads and is also comfortable for long rides, then the BMW F 900 GS and GS Adventure are worth considering. The BMW F 900 GS and GSA compete with the other 800cc-900cc ADVs in the Indian market. They primarily compete with the Triumph Tiger 900 which is priced similarly to the BMWs and is a pretty capable ADV as well. On the other hand, The F 900 GS and GSA also go up against the Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE which has a smaller engine and is significantly more affordable than the BMW ADVs.
