Hero Electric Optima Plus Summary
19 June 2018: If you’re looking for an environment-friendly alternative for your daily commute, the Hero Electric Optima Plus is worth a look. It looks like a slimmer version of the Hero Pleasure. The scooter even gets alloys wheels done in silver for a sportier look. The glossy list of colours include maroon, white and black. Since the scooter does not exceed the 25kmph mark, it doesn’t require a licence to be ridden.
The Hero Electric Optima Plus runs on a 250W brushless DC motor, which draws power from a 48 Volts 20Ah battery pack. As per company claims, one can expect a range of up to 70km per charge. The scooter gets gradability of 7 degrees, which means with two up, climbing flyovers can get troublesome. Charging time, however, takes between 7-8 hours.
Weighing in at just 86kg, the Electric Optima Plus should be a light scooter to handle, which is a boon in heavy traffic conditions. At a price tag of Rs 36,037 the Hero Electric Optima Plus competes with the Ampere V48 (Rs 38,000 ex-showroom, Delhi). But it is a better buy considering the service and sales network that Hero Electric has.
