Who is the Owner and CEO of Hero MotoCorp?
Hero MotoCorp is owned by the Munjal family and the brand’s CEO, Chairman and Managing Director is Dr Pawan Kant Munjal. Hero MotoCorp’s history goes back to 1984 when Honda Motor Company and Hero Cycles got together to start Hero Honda Group. Under this joint venture, Hero Honda made motorcycles and scooters. In 2010, the joint venture was ended and Hero group led by the Munjal family bought out Honda’s stake.

Hero Electric, originally called Hero Electric Vehicles Private Limited, is owned by Hero EcoTech Group and is a separate entity from Hero MotoCorp. What is i3S Technology in Hero Bikes?
The i3S stands for Idle Stop-Start System. This technology automatically switches off the engine after the bike is idling in traffic for a while and then turns the engine back on with a pull of the clutch lever. This system helps Hero bikes and scooters save fuel by preventing the engine from staying on unnecessarily when stopped. The i3S was first introduced on the Splendor i-Smart and is standard across almost all motorcycles and scooters from Hero.

Hero Mavrick 440 is the highest capacity offering from Hero. It is powered by the same 440cc engine as the Harley-Davidson X440, which was co-developed by Hero and Harley-Davidson. The bike is a very unique offering which is able to bring a torquey and cruiser like riding experience in a roadster package.
