Hero Pleasure Plus Engine

Hero MotoCorp has relied on the tried-and-tested single-cylinder, air-cooled, 110.9cc engine for the Pleasure Plus, which first debuted with the Maestro Edge 110. This engine delivers 8.1PS @ 7000rpm and 8.7Nm @ 5500rpm and is paired with a V-belt automatic transmission.

Hero Pleasure Plus Suspension & Brakes

The Hero Pleasure Plus is one of those scooters in India which still comes with the old-school trailing link setup for the front suspension, while for the rear wheel, it has a single-sided swingarm with spring-loaded hydraulic dampers. All the variants of the Hero Pleasure Plus have 10-inch steel wheels with 90/100-10 tubeless tyres at both ends. The scooter also has 130mm drum brakes for front and rear wheels.

One of the lightest scooters on sale in India, the Hero Pleasure Plus has a ground clearance of 155mm, while its fuel tank capacity is 4.8 litres.

Hero Pleasure Plus Key Features

The Hero Pleasure Plus is pretty basic in terms of features, with the scooter getting stylised steel wheels, an electric starter and a part-digital instrument cluster as standard. However, the range-topping Pleasure Plus Xtec variant gets more features like an LED projector headlamp, chrome rearview mirrors, chrome garnish on the front fender and a pillion seat backrest. The Hero Pleasure Plus Xtec variant also gets Bluetooth connectivity as an option, in which the blue LCD screen that shows the fuel gauge and odometer also reads out incoming calls and SMS alerts.

Hero Pleasure Plus Rivals

The Hero Pleasure Plus competes with the rest of the affordable, entry-level 110cc scooters like TVS Scooty Zest and Honda Dio.

Pleasure Plus Expert Review

BikeDekho Experts

Overview

The Hero Pleasure Plus is an affordable scooter from the Jaipur-based manufacturer, mostly aimed at women. The scooter over the years has gone through a lot of updates and changes to its design. But is it enough to make the scooter hold its own when compared to the other scooters in the market?

Hero Pleasure Plus 110: First Ride Review

Design

The Pleasure Plus, features a unique design which combines a bit of retro elements to make it stand out. The scooter gets a large conventional halogen headlight, and apron mounted indicators split by a plastic panel that is designed to make it look like a brushed aluminum finish. The design language overall is quite rounded and the scooter has a slim profile overall.

Hero Pleasure Plus 110: First Ride Review

The Pleasure Plus gets a simple looking taillight, complimented by a chunky looking pillion grabrail. Overall, the scooter looks quite good and manages to stand out when compared to its competitors.

Hero Pleasure Plus 110: First Ride Review

Engine, Mileage & Performance

The Pleasure Plus is powered by a 110.9cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine which outputs 8.15PS of power and 8.7Nm. The scooter feels quick and is quite responsive to throttle inputs, climbing up to speeds of 70kmph in no time. What we really liked about the scooter is how the acceleration is quite linear and there’s no jerk to the throttle, something which new riders will appreciate.

Hero Pleasure Plus 110: First Ride Review

The scooter can easily ride at speeds of 50-60kmph without the motor feeling stressed. But once you go beyond that you will start to feel a bit of vibrations on the floorboard. The motor also starts to show signs of being stressed. But overall, the performance offered is more than enough to meet most commuting needs.

Handling & Ride Quality

The Pleasure Plus, thanks to its low kerb weight of 106kg, has always been a light scooter that is easy to move around, be it in the parking lot or while riding. By extension, this light weight makes the scooter really agile and quick to cut through traffic. Overall, the pleasure comes off as a really good scooter for beginner riders as it is not very intimidating, and also quite easy to use.

Hero Pleasure Plus 110: First Ride Review

Now, this light weight, although a blessing, brings its own set of issues. The main being, the scooter doesn’t have enough stability when riding at higher speeds. But this is not a major issue as the Pleasure is meant to be ridden at city speeds under 60kmph.

Hero Pleasure Plus 110: First Ride Review

Coming to the brakes, the Pleasure gets 130mm drums at both ends. The brakes offer limited feel and you’ll have to squeeze the lever hard to bring the scooter to a stop. Overall, the brakes don’t inspire much confidence when riding at higher speeds. The ride quality is also a bit towards the stiffer side, and the sharp bumps and potholes on the road will be felt. So slowing down when encouraging bad patches of road is a must.

Comfort

The seat on the Pleasure Plus is well padded, which combined with the lower handlebars offers  a comfortable riding position to shorter riders. But for taller riders the scooter can feel a bit cramped because of the low floorboard and the limited area it has to offer. Another issue with the scooter is the handlebars, which can end up rubbing into the knees of taller riders while making sharp U-turns in the city. But otherwise, the Pleasure Plus is able to offer a good riding experience.

Hero Pleasure Plus 110: First Ride Review

Features

The Pleasure Plus features a simple analogue instrument console, with a digital inset. The Speedometer and the fuel gauge are analogue, whereas the digital inset displays information such as trip and odometer readouts.

Hero Pleasure Plus 110: First Ride Review

With the XTEC variant, you can get smartphone connectivity and related features such as call/SMS alerts and phone battery status. Overall, the set of features on offer are not that impressive when compared to the scooter’s rivals.

The Pleasure Plus gets an apron mounted box, for added utility but the placement of it and the USB charger is a bit awkward. The USB charger is placed at the bottom, which forces you to route the cable through the outside. This will require the rider to use a longer cable and there’s also a chance that it could get entangled with the rider’s feet, potentially becoming a hazard.

Hero Pleasure Plus 110: First Ride Review

Other features on offer include, Hero’s i3S start stop system, which shuts the engine off when idling in traffic and thus helping in improving the scooter’s overall mileage.

Should you buy

The Hero Pleasure Plus offers good performance and handles well, both of which are important when riding in city traffic. But the major issue is, it hasn’t seen any major updates and now feels a bit dated. When comparing the price of the scooter to that of its competitors, the Pleasure Plus, is not able to hold its own.

Hero Pleasure Plus 110: First Ride Review

The Pleasure Plus, starts at a price of Rs 74,663 (ex-showroom Delhi). For a lower price, you can go for the 2024 TVS Jupiter 110, which offers more performance and features while coming at a price that is Rs 963 cheaper.
