Honda CB350 Summary

Honda India has voluntarily recalled its 300-350cc bikes, including CB300F, CB300R, CB350, H’ness CB350 and CB350RS, over two mechanical issues. The bike also comes with a lot of different accessories.

Honda CB350 Price:

The Honda CB350 is available in two variants. The base DLX variant is priced at Rs 1,99,990, and the DLX Pro is available at Rs 2,17,800 (both ex-showroom, Delhi). Both variants are available in five colour options: Mat Dune Brown, Mat Marshal Green Metallic, Precious Red Metallic, Pearl Igneous Black and Mat Crust Metallic.

Honda CB350 Features:

The Honda CB350 features all-LED lighting and a semi-digital instrument panel compatible with Bluetooth connectivity and voice controls, excluding the base DLX version. The rider can receive calls and text alerts through the voice control system, play music, check the weather, and use navigation. That said, in order to use this feature, you'll have to buy a helmet-mounted mic and speaker set separately, which is not sold by Honda.

The analogue speedometer is complemented by an LCD panel that provides insights, including average mileage, fuel level, battery life, estimated range, instantaneous mileage, and gear position. Handy functions like automatic engine shutoff upon side stand engagement, engine kill switch, and additional safety assists such as an emergency stop signal (which activates the hazard lights on sudden braking) and traction control system are also available as standard.

Honda CB350 Engine:

The Honda CB350 gets the same 348.36cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor as working in the H’ness CB350. The engine makes 21PS at 5500rpm and 29.4Nm at 3000rpm and is paired to a 5-speed transmission with an assist and slipper clutch.

Honda CB350 Suspension, Brakes & Other Details:

The Honda CB350 is built on a half-duplex cradle frame with a telescopic front fork and dual shock absorbers at the back. The braking duties are handled by a 310mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear, with the extra safety of dual-channel ABS. The motorcycle gets a tubeless set of tyres sized 100-section at the front (with a 19-inch alloy) and 130-section (with an 18-inch alloy) at the rear.

The motorcycle has a kerb weight of 187 kilograms, 6kg more than the H'ness CB350. Its fuel tank can hold 15.2 litres, comes with a ground clearance of 165 mm, with a seat height of 800mm.

Honda CB350 Rivals:

The Honda CB350 goes up against the Royal Enfield Bullet 350, Royal Enfield Classic 350Royal Enfield Hunter 350, TVS Ronin and Jawa 350 in its category.

Honda CB350 Expert Review

BikeDekho Experts
The CB350 looks quite good and has a good set of modern features that makes it an alternative to its main competitor, the Royal Enfield Bullet 350. But the bike doesn’t manage to make itself stand out enough when compared to the other offerings in the Honda CB350 lineup.

Overview

The Honda CB350 is a retro roadster offering based on the CB350 platform, which currently includes the Honda H’ness CB350 and Honda CB350RS. The CB350 aims to compete with the Royal Enfield Bullet 350. Here’s how it performs in the real world:

Design

The CB350 comes with a retro roadster-like design that is very similar to that of the Royal Enfield Bullet 350. It comes with a round LED headlight and turn indicators. The fuel tank is teardrop-shaped, and gives the bike a retro look. The bike comes with a split seat setup that looks similar to what we have seen on the higher variants of the CB350 H’ness, but with more premium seat covers. The main difference when compared to other bikes in the CB350 lineup is that it gets full-length metal fenders at both ends. It is offered in simple colours without any fancy stickering but looks quite good. It comes with a peashooter exhaust with a full-chrome finish, the exhaust unit looks quite retro and adds a bit of premiumness to the bike overall.

Engine, Mileage & Performance

The CB350 is powered by the same 350cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine as the CB350 H’ness and Honda CB350RS. The engine produces 21.07PS at 5500rpm and 30Nm at 3000rpm.

The engine, like the ones on the H’ness and CB350RS, has amazing refinement and ensures that vibrations aren’t felt even at higher speeds. But it has similar weaknesses as well, which is a lack of low-speed torque. But once this initial sluggishness is overcome, the bike rides very smoothly.

Handling & Ride Quality

The Honda CB350 is a decent motorcycle when it comes to handling. Even though it has a relatively larger 1441mm wheelbase when compared to the other bikes in the CB350 platform, it is able to manoeuvre well. The wide handlebar is great when trying to cut through city traffic conditions. The bike is a bit towards the heavier side with a kerb weight of 187kg but this weight is only noticeable when riding at slow speeds or taking U-turns.

The suspension setup is well-balanced and is able to absorb most bumps, potholes and undulations easily.. That said, there will be instances where the front suspension bottoms out when going over sharp potholes. Coming to the brakes, they are able to bring the bike to a stop easily and the performance overall is well timed with the lever action, bite and progression being responsive.

Comfort

The Honda CB350 offers a neutral and upright riding posture and that combined with the well cushioned seat gives the rider a comfortable riding experience overall. The seat is not too hard or too soft and ensures that the rider doesn’t feel discomfort during long rides.

Features

The CB350 comes with the same semi-digital instrument cluster as other bikes in the CB350 lineup. The console offers information including the speed, fuel level, gear position, distance to empty and battery voltage, along with the readouts like the odometer, tachometer, and tripmeters.

The DLX Pro variant gets smartphone connectivity via bluetooth and gets related functionalities such as turn-by-turn navigation and Honda Smartphone Voice Control system (HSVCS).

Should you buy

The Honda CB350 is a good bike overall and makes for an ideal alternative to those looking to buy a retro looking bike with more modern features like LED lighting and smartphone connectivity.

Unfortunate and bad experience within 3 months.
I purchased Honda CB350 on 30th August and they announced the recall campaign just one month after my purchase. When I gave my bike to first service, I found that their was a gap on the head light rim and the main body of the head light. When I asked them they said we can't do anything now. The gap still exists and it doesn't look good. The USB charger is not working out of the box, I made a mistake of not checking it during the delivery, now they are saying electrical system is not under warranty. In the rear mirrors we can't see anything. I don't have confidence to turn left or right, I need to see back since mirrors are useless. Even after 2 months of announcement of recall, no one has called me for part replacement. It seems they need to replace a camshaft and sensor, which needs opening of engine. I am not confident of the reliability of the vehicle now. I am disappointed by the brand Honda.
