Overview

Kawasaki Z800 is the second offering from the company in the Z-series after Z1000ย  in India. The machine has refreshed the preferences of the buyers with its aggressive looks and impressive styling. Kawasaki Z800 is powered by a 806cc, in-line four cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that comes mated to a six-speed transmission system. The fuel injected mill offers a maximum power of 111bhp at 10,200rpm with a peak torque of 83Nm at 8,000rpm. The Digital CDI ignited engine uses chain drive to transmit the power to rear wheels.

Kawasaki Z800 is bolted on a tubular backbone (with engine sub frame), high tensile steel frame and runs on 120/70-ZR17 front and 180/55-ZR17 rear tubeless tyres with stylish black alloy wheels. The suspension system of the bike includes 41mm inverted forks with spring loaded adjustability at the front and bottom link Uni-trak, gas charged monoshock with piggyback reservoir and preload adjustability at the rear. Dual semi floating 310mm disc brake with dual opposed four pistons are equipped to the front wheel and single 250mm disc brake is fitted to the rear.

The front fascia of Kawasaki Z800 has a twin sharp headlamp section with a tiny visor. The fuel tank is designed neatly and the tank shrouds fitted to it looks fascinating. It also features a split step up seat that looks majestic. The rear end of the bike sports a smart LED tail lamp. Kawasaki Z800 notes down the following dimensions: 2,100mm x 800mm x 1,050mm (LxWxH) with a wheelbase of 1,445mm. The bike stands handsomely with a minimum ground clearance of 150mm. It has a fuel tank of 17 liter capacity. The instrumentation of the bike is fully digital that displays speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, trip meter and clock.

Design

Aggression and mean, these two words define the Z800 very well. The bike belongs to the tribe of some of the best looking street bikes on the planet. The front fascia gets a sharp and pointed headlamp section that comes with a powerful headlight to give proper vision at nights. The fuel tank has been designed to perfection that offers a good riding position to the rider and looks majestic. The seating comes well-padded and split step up styled to offer an optimum comfort to the rider and pillion. The four-into-one exhaust setup looks fascinating and produces a high decibel roar in high rpm range. Coming to the rear, the bike features a sharp LED tail lamp unit along with a pointed rear fender and number plate holder.

Kawasaki Z800 has the body dimensions of 2,100mm x 800mm x 1,050mm (LxWxH) and has a wheelbase of 1,445mm to ensure an agile and sharp handling. A minimum ground clearance of 150mm promises a commendable stability around the corners. The seat has been fitted at a height of 834mm to ease up the task for short heighted riders as well. The Z800 has been assisted with a 17 liter fuel tank that offers a decent range without any stoppage. The instrument cluster of the bike informative, showing plenty of information and comprises of digital speedometer, tachometer, odometer, tripmeter and fuel gauge.

Engine, Mileage & Performance

Kawasaki Z800 has been loaded with a 806cc, liquid-cooled, in-line four cylinder engine that comes mated to a six-speed transmission setup. The engine churns out a net power of 111.3bhp at 10,200rpm along with a peak torque of 83Nm at 8,000rpm. The fuel injected mill has four 34mm Mikuni with dual throttle valves that ensures a crisp throttle response with an uninterrupted power delivery. With a compression ratio of 11.9:1, the engine has a bore x stroke ratio of 71mm x 51mm.

Handling & Ride Quality

Kawasaki Z800 runs on 120/70ZR17M/C (58W) front and 180/55ZR17M/C (73W) rear tyres that comes mounted over stylish alloy wheels. The bike has been blessed with fierce stopping power that is provided by dual 310mm disc brakes with four-piston calliper upfront and a single 250mm disc brake with a single piston calliper at the rear. The suspension duties are carried out impressively with the help of 41mm inverted forks upfront and Bottom-Link Uni-Trak, gas-charged single shock with piggyback reservoir at the rear.

Features

Kawasaki Z800 has been equipped with a powerful headlamp at the front that offers a brighter beam of light and ensures proper vision at nights. The sound braking system comprises of twin 310mm disc brakes upfront and a single 250mm single disc brake at the rear. The braking gets even more refined and responsive with the incorporation of a high-performance ABS unit to the package. Besides this, the bike also gets a traction control system in order to prevent losing of control under harsh riding and road conditions. All these safety features make Kawasaki Z800 a perfect naked supersports that is well capable of conquering the streets effortlessly.
