21st-October-2015: Kinetic has unveiled the Italian superbike- MV Agusta F3 800 in India, which will be launched in the country early next year i.e. 2016. The supersport motorcycle will be sold in India via CBU route and it is expected to be priced around RS. 20 lacs in the country. One of the best-looking bikes in the respective segment, the F3 800 delivers a peak power of 148bhp and weighs just 173 kg. Overview

One of the best sportbike manufacturers in the world, MV Agusta delivers yet another masterpiece in the form of MV Agusta F3 series. Entitled with “World’s best-looking motorbike in its class”, the F3 series is blessed with loads of technical boons and world class body dynamics. The much-awaited superbike has put a lot of the Indian biking freaks on hold and is sure to revive the Indian superbike market with its excellent technology and overwhelming looks.

MV Agusta F3 series are powered by three-cylinder, DOHC, four-stroke engines mated to a six-speed transmission system. The engine is handled electronically by Integrated ignition-Injection system (Motor & Vehicle Integrated System) with six injectors. The liquid-cooled engine pushes the bike to a top speed of 260-270 kmph.

MV Agusta F3 rests on an ALS steel tubular trellis frame with aluminium alloy rear swing arm. It moves on 120/70 ZR17 tyres at the front and 180/55 ZR17 tyres at the rear. The suspension system includes Marzocchi upside-down telescopic forks at the front and progressive Sachs mono-shock at the rear. The bike comes with 320mm front dual disc brakes with four-piston calliper and 220mm rear disc brake with twin piston calliper. The braking system is coupled with Bosch 9 plus ABS system with Race mode and Rear-wheel lift-up mitigation.

MV Agusta F3 series come with several advanced features that make it highly competitive. It is bestowed with Traction control with eight levels of intervention that ensure enhanced level of safety and stability. Furthermore, the bike deploys race inspired Quick shifter that assures quick and easy gear shifting without using the clutch. The bike sports a fuel tank of 16.5-litre capacity.

MV Agusta F3 also comes with a wet multi-disc slipper clutch that prevents the engine braking jerk and loss of revs in case of aggressive downshifts. The bike weighs about 173kgs, which is comparatively lesser than the rest of the superbikes in its class. To accomplish weight reduction, the front and rear fender of the bike are made with lightweight carbon fibre material.

The body dynamics of the machine are truly inspiring, making it look one of the smartest looking two-wheelers in the world. The front fascia looks impressive with a single headlamp section. The triple silencer pipes that appear in a descending order are one of the best visuals in the bike. Moreover, the bike comes with a split seat, giving it some more sporty character.

Design

Needless to say, MV Agusta has been an expert in designing one of the best looking and superior sporty machines across the planet. Following this philosophy, MV Agusta F3 also comes with breathtaking aesthetics and superb body design. The front profile receives some spectacular cosmetic treatments that is witnessed by a sharp and pointed headlamp section incorporated with an aerodynamically designed sporty visor. The ALS steel tubular trellis frame exposes itself impressively to show off some tough masculine character of the bike. The fuel tank has been chiseled to perfection and offers a good and comfortable riding position to the rider. Furthermore, it features a sporty step-up seat that comes well-padded and delivers an optimum comfort to the rider and pillion. Coming to the rear, the bike has been integrated with a stylish full LED tail lamp that looks stunning.

MV Agusta F3 comes with body dimensions of 2,060mm x 725mm (LxW) and has a wheelbase of 1,380mm that ensures a commendable handling in all traffic conditions. Furthermore, a minimum ground clearance of 125mm gives enough confidence to the rider to perform sharp cornering with ease. The bike has been assisted with a 16.5 liter fuel tank that offers a good range without any stoppage. The instrumentation of the machine is done impressively that comprises of a digital speedometer, tachometer, tripmeter and fuel gauge along with the usual telltale lights. 

Engine, Mileage & Performance

MV Agusta F3 800 is powered by a 798cc, three-cylinder, 12 valve, DOHC, four-stroke engine that comes mated to a cassette style six-speed constant mesh gearbox. The fuel injected mill churns out a net power of 148bhp at 13,000rpm with a maximum torque of 88Nm at 10,600rpm. On the other hand, MV Agusta F3 675 is propelled by a 675cc, three-cylinder, 12 valve, DOHC, four-stroke engine that comes linked to a cassette style six-speed constant mesh transmission. The mill cranks out a peak power of 126.3Bhp at 14,400rpm along with a maximum torque of 71Nm at 10,900rpm. Both the engines have been assisted with an advanced Integrated ignition - injection system MVICS (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System) that also includes a high-performance traction control unit with eight levels of intervention for enhanced safety and stability. With this, MV Agusta F3 800 his a top speed of 269kmph while its younger sibling F3 675 attains a maximum speed of 260kmph on the speedo.

Handling & Ride Quality

MV Agusta F3 progresses with grace over 120/70-ZR 17M/C (58W) front and 180/55-ZR 17M/C (73W) rear wider and grippy tyres that come mounted over robust black alloy wheels. The fierce stopping potential is delivered by dual 320mm disc brakes with Brembo four piston callipers at the front and a single 220mm disc brake with Brembo twin piston callipers at the rear. The braking gets more refined and responsive with the incorporation of Bosch 9 plus Anti Lock Braking System (ABS) that is further equipped with Race Mode and RLM (Rear wheel Lift-up Mitigation). The suspension system of the bike comprises of Marzocchi upside down hydraulic forks at the front and progressive Sachs monoshock at the rear that gulps in the hurdles and bumps of road quite effortlessly.

The MV electronic assisted quick shifter enables to perform instant and easy gear shifting without the involvement of clutch giving another benefit to the rider.
