2021 TVS Apache RR 310 Performance Kits And Colours Explained

Wondering what the hype surrounding TVS’ flagship is all about? Here’s a low-down

TVS Motor Company rattled the Indian market with the launch of the 2021 Apache RR 310. The Hosur-based bikemaker’s flagship motorcycle is the first in the segment to utilise a ‘Built To Order’ platform comprising cosmetic customising options and useful updates in the form of two performance kits -- Dynamic and Race. Here’s a breakdown of the customisation process of the 2021 TVS Apache RR 310:

Dynamic Kit:
After the launch of the 2021 Apache RTR 200 4V with preload-adjustable suspension, TVS has taken things up a notch with the introduction of fully adjustable suspension at both ends for the flagship RR 310. This makes it the most affordable motorcycle in our market to pack equipment like this, that too at a relatively cheap price tag of Rs 12,000.

The Dynamic kit comprises Kayaba USD fork offering 20-step compression and rebound damping and 15mm preload adjustability. At the rear, the monoshock packs a 10-step preload adjuster and has 20-step rebound damping. The kit also includes a brass-coated chain claimed to be durable and rust-resistant.

Race Kit:
The TVS Apache RR 310’s ergonomics aren’t as track-focused as you’d expect from a thoroughbred supersport. However, that changes with the Race kit. For Rs 5,000 extra (over the Rs 2.59 lakh ex-showroom price), the company will arm your bike with track-focused clip-on handlebars and footpegs. The new handlebar has been lowered by eight degrees and moved towards the rider by five degrees, thus reducing wind resistance.

The new footpegs are 30mm higher than the standard fitment, offering a 4.5-degree increase in lean angle. These pegs have a knurled design, something reserved for track-bred machines to provide more leverage.

Colours:
In 2021, the Apache RR 310 finally gets the TVS Racing livery. However, unlike the iconic Racing Blue, the bike is available in a white base paint. That said, the paint job looks premium in the flesh. Complementing the flamboyant white and red paint are the red alloy wheels. The race replica colour comes at Rs 4,500 extra over the standard model’s ex-showroom price.

If you aren’t sold on the loud white and red paint job, the 2021 TVS Apache RR 310 is also available in the dual-tone black and red colors from the 2020 model. And if the red alloy wheels have caught your fancy, they come at just Rs 1,500 more than the ex-showroom price (only available with the dual-tone black). Also, for no extra cost, you can have your personalised racing number on the visor.

You can customise and order the 2021 TVS Apache RR 310 over the bike maker’s official website or through the TVS ARIVE mobile application. Unfortunately, the BTO platform will accept only 150 orders for the first two months.

If you already own an Apache RR 310 and wish to upgrade your bike with the Dynamic and Race kits, there’s good news for you. The kits can be retrofitted to older bikes as well, however, the price would be slightly higher. More details coming up soon.
