BREAKING: Ducati Multistrada V4 India Launch Just Around The Corner

Modified On Jun 1, 2021 10:55 AM By Gaurav Sadanand for Ducati Multistrada V4

The fourth-gen Multistrada gets radar-based riding aids

Changes extend from aesthetics and ergonomics to mechanicals. The biggest change is the new 1158cc V4 Granturismo motor. It’s 10kg lighter than the older Multistrada 1260 Enduro. Expected to be priced around Rs 20 lakh.

The Ducati Multistrada V4 is all set to be launched in India this month. The fourth-generation Multistrada gets a new motor, revised aesthetics, and radar-based riding aids. It’s sleeker and lighter now with a host of updates for a better touring experience. The standard V4 model is available in red, while the V4 S also comes in Aviator Grey.

The biggest change is the new 1158cc V4 Granturismo motor that not only has a smaller footprint than the previous V-twin engine, but is also a whole 1.2kg lighter. While it doesn’t produce earth-shattering power figures like the Streetfighter V4, it does make its power a lot lower down the rev range -- 170PS at 10,500rpm and 125Nm at 8750rpm.

It even has a series of ducts that channel air towards the engine for better thermal management. Not to mention, the V4 has the ability to deactivate the rear cylinders when the bike is idling.

Of course, a Multi feels incomplete without its extensive electronics suite and thankfully, the V4 doesn’t miss out on anything. In fact, it takes things up a notch with its riding aids. For starters, the V4 features a 6-axis IMU that manages cornering ABS, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), Ducati Traction Control (DTC), and Vehicle Hold Control (VHC). It also tweaks the semi-active Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS) on the go. The radar-based cruise control comes with one of the top-spec trims.

The bike's dimensions and hardware have also been modified. It gets a shorter wheelbase, better ground clearance, and weighs 10kg lighter than the Multistrada 1260 Enduro. Read more about it here. Even the bodywork on the Multistrada V4 is sleeker and more compact than before. The revised fuel tank can now accommodate 22 litres of fuel.

Other notable features include cornering lights, a full-colour TFT instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity, and navigation that can be viewed on the dashboard. There's a nifty storage unit too on top of the tank that can be used to store or charge your phone.

Considering all the updates, we reckon Ducati may price the Multistrada V4 at around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price point, it will compete against the BMW R 1250 GS Adventure and Harley Davidson Pan America 1250.
