The Faast F2F is among the more affordable offerings in the ‘fast’ (i.e. top speed over 45kmph) category

Okaya EV has launched the Faast F2F electric scooter at Rs 83,999 (ex-showroom Delhi). The brand claims its latest electric scooter is good for a claimed 80 km on a single charge, with a top speed of 55kmph, which should be ideal for its target audience: students and young professionals.

The Okaya Faast F2F is powered by a 2.2kWh removable Lithium Ferro-phosphate (LFP) battery which it claims offers consistent power over a longer time. Moreover, it can be charged up fully in five hours, ideal for most daily commuters. The battery powers a 800W BLDC hub-mounted motor, which offers three riding modes – Eco, City, and Sports – along with a reverse mode.

Underpinning the Faast F2F is a telescopic fork and twin rear shocks. It runs on 10-inch tyres front and rear, with drum brakes all around and a combined braking system. That said, we believe a disc setup (at least up front) would have made more sense at this price point. It also gets an LED headlight, taillight and indicators, along with an LCD instrument cluster showing off the basic data like the speedometer, odometer, power mode selected, and battery charge level; all of which are par for the course.

The Faast F2F is already available at the brand’s 550 showrooms pan-India, and will be offered in six colours (Metallic Black, Metallic Cyan, Matte Green, Metallic Grey, Metallic Silver and Metallic White). Moreover, Okaya offers a two-year warranty on the battery and motor.

Nevertheless, the Okaya Faast F2F seems somewhat lacking from a visual standpoint, and even its spec sheet shows an overall average scooter. Now don’t get us wrong, those looking for a dependable commuter can definitely go for it. However, cheaper alternatives like the Ampere Magnus EX do almost everything the Faast F2F does for a bit less money, though its claimed top speed is 5kmph lower. And if you want to do more than the college or office run, you would do better by going for the upcoming Ola S1 Air.
