Update: Harley-Davidson has launched its 2017 model range in India with ABS standard, starting at Rs 4.91 lakh for the Street 750.
The most renown leisure motorcycle brand in India, Harley-Davidson is going to launch its 2017 motorcycle models in the country tomorrow i.e. on November 8, 2016. We are not sure whether the company is launching its entire 2017 line-up in the country or not. But the press invitation of the launch event hints that the company will launch at least three models from its new range, which could be the 2017 CVO Limited, Road Glide Special and the Roadster.
The flagship motorcycle of the company, the 2017 Harley-Davidson CVO Limited is powered by the new Milwaukee-Eight 114 V-twin. Displacing around 1,868cc, the new V-twin has larger displacement and 4-valve heads, resulting in 10 per cent more torque. Loaded with high-end features such as keyless ignition, adjustable suspension setup, Reflex Linked Brembo brakes with ABS and BOOM! Box 6.5GT infotainment system, the bagger-style motorcycle gets 165Nm of torque at just 3,250rpm.
The 2017 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Special has also been updated with a bigger Milwaukee-Eight 107 engine that gives it 10 per cent more torque as well. Apart from that, the bike gets new, exciting colour options, while continuing with features like Jukebox with USB port. The bike also shares most of its features with its elder sibling, the CVO Limited, except the keyless ignition system.
The latest addition to the H-D line-up, the Harley-Davidson Roadster will be an all-new motorcycle for the Indian market. The bike is much different compared to any existing model of the company and gets better controllability and handling on the streets as well. The bike is based on the popular Forty-Eight model but gets many distinctive features like chopped fenders and lowered handlebars, providing an aggressive look to the machine. Designed for sporty riding, the Roadster is powered by a 1,200cc, air-cooled Evolution V-Twin that delivers 96Nm of torque. The price of the bike is expected to be near Rs 10 lakh in India, and the 2017 CVO Limited and the Road Glide Special could also get a slightly higher price tag with respect to their bigger power mills.
