Japan based auto manufacturer, Honda Motor has launched its new Electric scooter, Honda EV-Neo, for overseas market. The company's plans to aim domestic business customers like Pizza delivery services. The EV-Neo is equipped with lithium-ion battery. Its performance is as similar as of a 50cc petrol engine performance, without noise. The battery can be quickly charged up to 80 percent of capacity within the 20 minutes, although regular power socket charge would take about 4 hours, said the Japanese auto maker. Honda Motors intends to start leasing the EV scooter to Japanese business companies from end of this year, said a spokeswoman, without disclosing the price tag or production targets. EV-Neo may not be acceptable for personal uses, but the company eventually wants to make it for individual customers. Japan Honda Motor projected the scooter as "noise and clean and contributing to making a low-carbon society" as it introduced a prototype of the two-wheeler at a research facility on the section of Tokyo. Honda Motor released 200 units of an earlier EV model to Japanese business customers in 1994. Although the company wasn't announced international sales for the electric scooter. Apart from that launches, Toyota's Prius hybrid model has been the top-selling car in the domestic market for early a year, while Nissan is introducing its Leaf electric car in the next year, it will make a competition with Mitsubishi Motors I-MiEV. On the other hand, In India will see more bike launches like Yamaha SZ, Yamaha YZF R125 and TVS Wego.
