From new launches and the latest spy shots to major insights on upcoming bikes and more! Here’s what all happened this week in the two-wheeler industry

The second week of July witnessed a lot of exciting news from the two-wheeler industry including new bike launches, a lot of spy shots and major insights on upcoming bikes and scooters. If you happen to miss all the action, don’t worry! We've compiled a list of this week’s top bike news for you:

1. Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono Launched

Ducati has launched the Hypermotard 698 Mono in India, it is the Italian brand’s first-ever single-cylinder bike in 30 years. 

The bike is equipped with a 659cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder Superquadro Mono engine that delivers 77.5PS at 9,750rpm and 63Nm at 8,000rpm, making the 698 Mono the most powerful production single-cylinder bike in the world as of now. It gets a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. Moreover, the RVE variant also comes with a bi-directional quickshifter, whereas the standard variant comes with it as an optional accessory.

2. TVS Apache RTR 160 Racing Edition Launched

The TVS Apache RTR 160 2V Racing Edition has been launched in India. The new Racing Edition now sits at the top of the range and gets all the features of the Disc BT. It comes with an exclusive Matte Black colour with red and grey stripes. It gets carbon-fibre-inspired graphics and red alloy wheels which complements the bike’s overall sporty design.

3. 2024 KTM 390 Adventure Spied Again

The upcoming KTM 390 Adventure was spotted testing in India yet again. The test bike has the same design as the one a few months back and will have better off-road capabilities as compared to the current-gen 390 Adventure. These new spy shots provided us with a closer look at the ADV.

4. Royal Enfield News

A lot of Royal Enfield bike spy shots surfaced online this week. Firstly, the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 and Bullet 650 were spied testing together. Another spy shot of the upcoming Guerrilla 450 surfaced online, revealing a new yellow and black colour variant of the bike ahead of its launch on July 17, 2024. Then two more Royal Enfield bikes, the Classic 650 Twin and Shotgun 350, were spotted testing as well.


Apart from these spy shots, a patent image of the Royal Enfield electric bike has been leaked this week. The bike is currently in the works and is expected to launch by late 2025 or early 2026. You can read more about it here.

5. TVS Jupiter CNG Scooter In The Works

After Bajaj launched the world’s first CNG bike, TVS has also started working on a new CNG scooter based on the Jupiter 125. According to a report, the TVS CNG scooter, project codename U720, is already in the development phase. The report further says that the production of the CNG scooter is likely to start by September or October 2024, with the launch expected by the end of 2024 or early 2025.
