Yamaha might showcase their much anticipated big bikes at the Expo
Yamaha Motor India is expected to showcase a relatively wide range of bikes at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, New Delhi. Some of these motorcycles might be launched at the expo and others only showcased for now. Here’s a look at the bikes we think might be seen there:
MT-09 & R9
The Yamaha MT-09 is a naked bike powered by an 890cc, liquid-cooled, three-cylinder engine that delivers 119PS and 93Nm. It has a 6-speed gearbox, along with a slipper clutch and a bi-directional quickshifter as standard. The R9 is the fully-faired version of the MT-09 and shares its platform with it. Both of these might be showcased at the expo.
R7 & MT-07
The Yamaha R7 and MT-07 may be displayed at the Bharat Mobility Expo in January 2025. They have a 689cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine making 73.4PS, 67Nm, and get a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. The MT-07 is the naked, street bike variant of the R7 and shares almost all of its parts with the R7, minus the fairing.
Tenere 700
The Yamaha Tenere 700 is an adventure bike built on the same 689cc, parallel-twin engine platform. It has long-travel suspension and switchable ABS modes, making it a capable off-road machine. This bike could also be showcased at the expo, alongside the MT-07 and R7.
XSR 155
The XSR 155 has been a long time coming, and it might finally be launched or showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. It is based on the same 155cc engine and chassis as the R15 V4 and the MT-15 V2. It is a neo-classic bike and gets retro-inspired styling, but with a modern twist like a liquid-cooled engine, an inverted fork, a monoshock, a perimeter frame, ABS and traction control.
FZ-X Hybrid
Already showcased to select dealers, the 2025 Yamaha FZ-X has a Smart Motor Generator (SMG) hybrid powertrain, which includes a small battery to power an electric motor for silent starts. This system will also feature start/stop technology to enhance fuel economy. Additionally, it will feature a colour TFT instrument cluster, with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and music control similar to the R15.
FZ Flex-Fuel
After unveiling the FZ-Fi flex-fuel back in 2023, and with the government’s push for such vehicles currently, Yamaha could soon launch the flex-fuel FZ model in India as well. Yamaha has a range of these flex-fuel products in its South American line-up, and they may showcase them again at the Expo.
