Does the 2025 Ather 450 have what it takes to overcome the insane obstacle course?!

Ather Energy has launched the 2025 Ather 450 which looks extremely capable. To take things even further, the 2025 Ather 450 is dubbed as the “Bike of scooters” and took on an insane challenge, showcasing its powerful features such as multi-mode traction control, zero-throttle lag and quick acceleration, magic twist and much more. The Track Attack was a four course obstacle challenge which pushed the Ather 450 to its limits. The electric scooter faced off against a petrol-powered 160cc motorcycle and a 125cc scooter.

The first challenge was an off-road track which consists of dry asphalt, a mud pit and off-road patch and a wet tarmac section. All these conditions mimic real world riding conditions which one might have to go through on a daily basis. The Ather 450 won this challenge quite easily thanks to the help of its new multi mode traction control which did not allow the rear wheel to spin and slip, while delivering power and maintaining constant grip at the same time.

The second challenge was a maze of cars, rickshaws, cranes and even a swinging box near the end. These two-wheelers had to complete the maze while collecting flags placed strategically to test the agility and balance of these vehicles. The 160cc motorcycle struggled with the constant need of changing gears and modulating the clutch while the 125cc scooter struggled with the lack of agility and balance. The Ather 450 zoomed past the rest as it didn’t even need to brake thanks to its new “Magic Twist” feature.  This is essentially a reverse throttle which allows for regenerative braking that now only slows down the scooter rapidly, but charges the battery a little while doing so.

The third challenge was a 100 metre drag race. The race began with the Ather 450 zooming past the competitors because of its electric motor’s instant torque delivery. Halfway through the race, the 160cc motorcycle started catching up and crept past the Ather 450, just nudging past it before the finish line - a true photo finish. On the other hand, while the 125cc scooter started to claw back against the Ather after about 40kmph, it simply didn’t have enough performance to actually catch up to it, and got left in the dust. So while the 160cc motorcycle did win, it was by the narrowest of margins against the new Ather 450X.

The last challenge was the hardest of the lot which really tested the vehicle’s ruggedness, stability and acceleration. The challenge was to jump off a ramp with just a small 25 metre run-up distance to gain speed. The Ather 450 with its near-zero lag throttle and instant torque picked up the most amount of speed and jumped the longest distance among the three proving its capability of how awesome and electrifying the Ather 450’s performance is.

This 4-course obstacle course showed us how capable the 2025 Ather 450 is thanks to all the high-tech features it gets, the crazy performance it has on offer and the excellent build quality. The Ather 450 is an excellent electric scooter and in this ‘Track Attack’ proved itself to be the “Bike of Scooters”.
