Honda unveiled the 2024 CBR650R E-Clutch version at EICMA, back in 2023. The Honda CBR 650R was one of the first two motorcycles to get Honda’s E-Clutch technology along with the CB650R. E-Clutch is a fully automated clutch with two electric motors with dedicated ECUs (Electronic Control Unit) for engaging and disengaging the clutch before and after changing gear.

The upcoming Honda CBR-650R will get a sharper design which gets its inspiration from the bigger CBR1000RR-R fireblade. It will look a lot sharper than the previous generation model that's for sure. Some new features could include a coloured 5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity.

The Honda CBR650R has always been known for its sporty yet comfortable ergonomics which makes it a brilliant sports-tourer. It will get the same 649cc, inline -four cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. However, now it makes around 94PS and 62Nm.

The bike will use a perimeter frame along with a cast aluminum swingarm, as before. It will have a Showa Separate Function fork and a 10-step preload-adjustable monoshock. It has  twin 310mm front discs along with a four-piston Nissincaliper.

The Honda CBR650R is expected to be launched by the end of February, or early March 2025, according to our dealership sources. It is expected to be priced between Rs 9,00,000 to Rs 9,50,000 (ex-showroom). Once launched, the Honda CBR650R will compete directly with the Triumph Daytona 660.
