Yamaha has been trying hard to appeal broader spectrum of biking enthusiasts for its third version of YZF-R15. On the same lines, Yamaha Indonesia is coming up with various designs of the motorcycle via extensive survey. There has been a lot said about the uncomfortable ergonomics of the motorcycle while, on long routes. The Yamaha India understood this and presented the YZF-R15s, designed to offer more comfort for both rider and pillion.
As per the report of an Indonesian blog Warungasep, Yamaha officials have started asking prospective customers what they need from R15 version 3.0. The company is also interviewing the local riding clubs about the same. This clearly indicates that Yamaha motors are doing their best to understand the customers and looking to bring what exactly they want.
The rendering images show how the new Yamaha YZF-R15 v3.0 may look like. The first image is based on the naked machine, Yamaha M-Slaz that is already running on Indonesian roads with the same engine of R15 and other one is related to its predecessor. The former hints the Honda CBR250R appearance from the tail side and latter share its styling cues with the Yamaha R125, which is running on European roads.
It is early to say, whether the company keep the same engine or will give it cosmetic updates. But the one thing is sure that render has created some excitement around and we believe the v3.0 Yamaha R15 will fulfill our expectations.
Presently, the Yamaha R15 is powered 149.8cc, SOHC, a 4-valve engine that is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. Its smooth yet powerful engine is capable enough to produce 17PS of power and 15Nm of torque.
