Triumph Speed Triple 1200

Triumph has launched the Speed Triple 1200 RS in India at Rs 16.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Speed Triple 1200 RS, Triumph’s most powerful naked motorcycle, is available in two colours -- Sapphire Black and Matt Silver Ice.

Triumph launched the Speed Triple 1200 RS in India on January 28. Both the colours -- Sapphire Black and Matt Silver -- are standard. The bike costs Rs 16,95,000. 

Speed Triple 1200 RS Features

The Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS features an all-LED headlight with DRLs, a 5-inch colour TFT display, and keyless system. On the safety front, the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS features five riding modes (including one for the track), four levels of traction control, cornering ABS, wheelie control and a bi-directional quickshifter.

Speed Triple 1200 RS Engine

The Speed Triple 1200 RS uses a larger 1160cc, liquid-cooled, inline-triple engine that makes 180PS of power and 125Nm of torque (30PS and 8Nm more than the previous version). It’s mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The new engine is 7kgs lighter than the older one. 

Speed Triple 1200 RS Suspension and Brakes

Triumph has equipped the Speed Triple 1200 RS with twin 320mm discs at the front and radially mounted top-spec Brembo Stylema monobloc callipers and a single 220mm disc at the rear. Suspension duties on the bike are handled by fully adjustable 43mm USD Öhlins NIX30 fork and Öhlins TTX36 twin tube monoshock. 

Speed Triple 1200 RS Competition

Currently, the only available rival of the Speed Triple 1200 RS in India is the Kawasaki ZH2. Its price starts at Rs 21.90 lakh. However, once launched, the Ducati Streetfighter V4 and the BMW S 1000 R will compete against the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS in the hyper-naked category.
