Overview

TVS introduce its TVS Flame to compete in 125cc segment, this segment bikes are for those who want to upgrade their bike from 100cc to 125cc. At present, there are two variants of the bike, TVS Flame SR and TVS Flame DS. The TVS Flame DS has drum and disc brake variant as well. TVS has seen many cosmetic and technical changes since its launch in 2008.

TVS Flame SR 125cc comes powered by a CCVTi, 3 valve, 4 stroke engine that generates a top power of 10.5 bhp at 7,500 rpm and delivers a maximum torque of 10 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The bike uses four speed constant mesh gearbox and multi-plate wet type clutch. TVS Flame SR 125 has been equipped with drum brakes and optional front disc brake along with latest five step adjustable rear fork. The bike has a halogen type headlamp and electric start option. TVS Flame has a compact fuel tank that can hold 7.5 litres of fuel whereas a larger 1320mm of wheelbase.

TVS Flame DS 125cc has more or less same engine and other systems. Its 125cc engine is configured with CCVTi, 3 valve, twin spark plugs; the powertrain of the bike is able to churn out a top power of 10.3 bhp at 7500 rpm and develops a peak torque of 10 Nm at 6,000 rpm. TVS Flame DS 125 comes with 4 speed transmission and multi-plate type clutch. The bike has front disc brake and rear drum type brake. Like the TVS Flame SR, it also possesses rear adjustable suspension, a wheelbase of 1320mm, a 7.5 litres of fuel tank and maximum speed of 95 kmph.

Lookwise there is not a great different between TVS Flame SR and DR. The TVS Flame is developed at DeltaEdge styling that provides it remarkable sporty design. The bike incorporates a digital dashboard that houses fitness check indicator, low fuel warning and intelligent mileage indicator along with common indicators. TVS Flame also comes with twin lens tail lamp. It also comes with internal storage box carved in the tank.

Design

TVS Flame has got a stylish and rigid chassis and finest wheelbase that help the rider to achieve great control over the bike. It's overall height is 1070mm, length is 2030mm and width is 760mm. TVS Flame comes with 160mm of ground clearance. Added to this, it sports 1320mm of wheelbase.

The TVS Flame comes with several industry and segment first features. One of the many features is its wider rear tyre that make the grip on road better that results in better handling. The TVS Flame is assembled with front 90/90x17 inch tyre and 100/90x17 inch rear tyre; it has six spoke mag alloy wheels. The black colour alloy wheels further beautify the look of the beast.

The TVS Flame is available in two variants and both looks completely same except some technological difference. This 125cc machine has been gifted with unique design and style. After giving it a look, you may think that it is a 150cc bike.

TVS Flame has got stunning hood in broad size, the headlamp is halogen type. At the top of the mask, a large black tinted wind screen is fitted; you will miss the front turn indicators around the mask. In TVS Flame the front turn indicators are fitted on tank's shrouds that gives the bike a unique identity. It's front fender and mask's panels are in body colour.

The TVS Flame sports a funky digital dashboard which is comprised of digital fuel gauge and tripmeter, analogue tachometer. Apart from these meters, the console also hosts fitness check indicator, low fuel warning and intelligent mileage indicator along with common indicators. The fuel tank of the TVS Flame has got most of the attention when it was in design phase. The tank has beefy shrouds with mounted front turn indicators and on-tank storage. This is also the main reason behind keeping the tank capacity less that is 7.5 litres.

TVS Flame features a step-up seat that is enough long and comfy. A bold rear grab rail is also added for the comfort of the passenger. The rear side of the TVS Flame is well crafted and looks as aggressive as the front one. The machine is installed with black out muffler and engine that add to the class of the motorcycle. Moreover, TVS Flame is adorned with six spoke meg alloy wheels.

TVS Flame comes with comfortable seat and riding position. The seat of the bike is long and step-up type that allows both the passengers to have their own cabin. Apart from that, a rear grab rail, footpegs and footrest ensure greater safety.

The TVS Flame has been added with on-tank storage space in which you can store your small stuffs for handy use. The front disc brake and rear 5 step adjustable fork are boon for the rider as they make sure your riding pretty memorable. TVS Flame boasts of wide tyres at both end with light weight alloy wheels. Now the machine features self start option that helps a lot in heavy traffic when you need to start your bike quickly.

Engine, Mileage & Performance

TVS Flame is equipped with a 3 valve, CCVTi, dual spark plugs and 125cc of engine displacement. The upgraded engine of TVS Flame belts out a top power of 10.5 bhp at 7,500 rpm and pumps out a maximum torque of 10 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The bike uses four speed gearbox and multi-plate wet clutch. In order to deliver more power and mileage, the TVS Flame has been loaded with the Controlled Combustion Variable Timing Intelligent (CC-VTi) technology and dual spark plugs. As a result, the bike can deliver a mileage of around 65 kmpl in city. TVS Flame has 7.5 litres of fuel tank.

Handling & Ride Quality

The TVS Flame hosts a number of new and industry first features including front disc brake, rear adjustable fork, digital console, wide rear tyre and larger wheelbase. The front disc brake is of dia 240mm while the rear one is conventional drum type. This front disc and rear drum blending is very popular nowadays and bike lover go for it all the way.

The bike has been equipped with telescopic oil damped front fork and five step adjustable hydraulic rear shock absorber. The rear one is the finest shocker in the class that allows you to adjust it for five different terrains, it means you need not worry about the roads ahead, just need to think for a ride only.

    IS IT RERALLY WORTHY ENOUGH
    Hi i am kumar from secbad I am a doctor by profession wen i was studying in college flame was released with much of hype n exaggerationso i tuk it soon it turned into a night mare for me the pick up is very poor n engine is very noisy yaar gear transmission is very hard wen throttled beyond 45kmph it vibrates n sound is terrible every morning i hav to give around 15 kicks to get it started tvs service mechanics r not trained properly n they r clueless abt the engine problems totally it tarnished the tvs brands imagehope tvs vl rectify the problems
