Honda CBR500R Summary
Honda unveiled the 2024 CBR500R at EICMA 2023 and the design of the supersport has been patented in India. The fully-faired 500cc supersport is powered by a 471cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine producing 47PS and 43Nm and comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch.
Suspension duties are taken care of by a 41mm Showa SFF-BP (Separate Function Fork Big Piston) inverted fork and Showa monoshock with 5-step preload adjustability setup while braking duties are taken care of by 320mm dual disc brakes at the front with two piston caliper and a 240mm disc brake at the rear with single piston caliper. It gets a new 5-inch TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. It gets a ground clearance of 130mm, kerb weight of 191kg, seat height of 785mm and fuel tank capacity of 17.1 litres.

Overview
Honda CBR500R is another fascinating Fireblade that has been made to satisfy a true blue biker. The bike is not officially on sale in India yet but however, with the rapidly growing automotive market, we can see it running on Indian roads soon. Honda CBR 500R is propelled by a 471cc, parallel twin, DOHC, liquid-cooled engine that generates a net power of 46.9bhp at 8,500rpm along with a peak torque of 43Nm at 7,000rpm. The Programmed Fuel Injected (PGM-Fi) motor has been mated to a six-speed manual constant mesh transmission system that uses wet multiplate clutch setup with well-spaced gear ratios to deliver superior all-round performance.
The bike progresses on 120/70ZR - 17M/C front and 160/60ZR - 17M/C rear tubeless tyres with robust multi spoke cast aluminium alloy wheels. The bike avails a comfortable and stress free ride as it comes equipped with conventional 41mm telescopic forks upfront and Pro link monoshock with 9 stage adjuster at the rear end. The fierce stopping power is provided by 320mm single wavy disc brake at the front and 240mm single wavy disc brake at the rear that works fine in all conditions.
The bike comes with good body dynamics including a robust dual headlamp section at the front and a bare athletic rear. The split step up seat is thickly cushioned and provides a top notch comfort even on long tiring journeys. The steel muffler looks sporty and further intensifies the aggression of the bike. Honda CBR 500R comes with an overall width of 740mm and its seating has been set at a height of 790mm. With a ground clearance of 140mm, the baby fireblade corners majestically around those sharp turns. Furthermore, it has a 1,410mm wheelbase that ensures superior dynamic stability on long stretches as well as tight city traffic. Honda CBR 500R has a 15.7 liter fuel tank that gives a good range for long distance sports touring. Now coming to the instrumentation, it is purely digital comprising of speedometer, bar graph tachometer, twin tripmeters, fuel consumption gauge, clock and fuel gauge. The Honda Ignition Security System (H.I.S.S.) promises safety of the vehicle by turning it on only when the original key is inserted into it.
Design
Honda CBR 500R comes with a dual headlamp section at the front that commands the overall body profile quite impressively. The front full fairing covers the front mechanicals neatly and gives some good surfaces to the motorcycle. The fuel tank design has been made a bit pointed that looks stunning and offers a good and comfortable riding position to the rider. Moving towards the rear, the bike gets a sporty split step up seat that looks majestic and comes well-padded. A super sporty steel exhaust setup produces an impressive grunt note and enhances the overall visuals of the machine. The rear end features a black coloured split grab rail that looks decent along with the sharply designed tail lamp section.

The Programmed Fuel Injection System (PGM-Fi) has been employed to ensure a crisp throttle response with a superior and uninterrupted flow of power. The motor has been coupled to a six-speed manual constant mesh transmission system that uses wet multiplate clutch setup with well spaced gear ratios. The refined Honda powerplant has a bore x stroke of 67mm x 66.8mm with a compression ratio of 10.7:1. With this, the bike sprints from 0 to 100kmph in just 5.70 seconds and reaches a top speed of 180kmph. Honda CBR 500R returns an overall fuel economy of 27kmpl as certified by the manufacturer.
Handling & Ride Quality
The bike runs on 120/70ZR - 17M/C front and 160/60ZR - 17M/C rear tubeless tyres that comes mounted over stylish multi spoke cast aluminium alloy wheels. The braking gets done with the help of 320mm single wavy disc brake at the front and 240mm single wavy disc brake at the rear that brings the bike to a halt effortlessly in case of an emergency.
