Honda CLIQ Summary
Sources have confirmed that the Honda Cliq has been discontinued in India and won't make the BS6 cut. Poor sales has been cited as the reason.
The Honda Cliq was an entry-level 110cc scooter from the Japanese automaker which retailed at Rs 55,131 (on road, Delhi) for the base model. The Cliq was designed to be convenient and practical. It featured 14-litres of storage capacity, additional rear load carrier, wide floorboard, and a centre box for storage (optional). Styling was pretty straightforward, with a focus on practicality. The scooter came with a 12V headlamp with AHO feature, self-start option, mobile charging socket underneath the seat, and a maintenance-free battery. Powering the scooter was a 109.19cc engine with 8PS and 8.94Nm of peak torque. Its 3.5-litres of fuel tank capacity returned a fuel-efficiency of 60kmpl. Ensuring stability were block pattern tubeless tyres, drum brakes and spring-loaded suspension at the front and rear. It also featured CBS for enhanced braking.

Cliq Expert Review
Overview
Based on Honda Navi, the new 110cc Honda Cliq is a capable contender in the segment. Its uncomplicated looks, practical design and terrific mileage tick all the boxes for a buyer looking for an affordable and a useful gearless scooter. Having priced below Activa, it certainly becomes a preferred choice for buyers in rural and semi-urban areas. The scooter weighs just over 100Kg, which is apt for lady riders to manage it in congested city streets. The 10-inch wheels are shod with block pattern tubeless tyres that not only provide adequate grip but remain stable on varied terrains. On the features front, the Cliq is not far behind as it comes with CBS (Combi Braking System), AHO (Automatic Headlamp On) and mobile charging socket. It also gets a range of accessories that add to its practicality and convenience including a luggage rack at the back, a small visor, a storage box placed at the centre of the floor board and the carbon fibre garnished instrument cluster. The fitted engine is refined to an extent that vibrations can only be felt when the scooter is not moving. With an excellent fuel economy, unconventional looks and a range of convenience features on offer, the Cliq deserves nothing less than a thumbs-up.
Design
Honda designers have worked on its styling quite brilliantly. Aimed to target the beginners, the weight of the scooter has been kept in check, in fact it weighs 6Kg lesser than the Activa. With no fuss in the design, it features a large 12V headlamp with AHO up front along with the turn blinkers that are placed smartly by the brand’s designers. It has a wide handlebar just like a motorbike and a long comfy single seat that ends with a black rear grab rail and an additional load carrier accessory. The tail section looks pleasing with the right placement of tail light and the number plate. On the storage front, it certainly leads the pack. The floor board is wide enough to place legs and carry goods but it doesn’t have a luggage hook which almost every rival offers. There is a 14-litre storage section under the seat which also features a mobile charging socket. It also gets an optional centre storage box on the floor board for storing things that can be quickly accessed while you are on the move. The fuel tank capacity of 3.5-litres on offer is a little small as compared to other players in the market. It sports a seat height of 743mm which offers a good riding stance.
Dimensionally it measures 1745mm long, 695mm wide and 1039mm high. The ground clearance sits at 154mm and the wheelbase at 1241mm.
Engine, Mileage & Performance
Powering the Cliq is the 4-stroke, fan-cooled, SI 109.19cc engine with 8bhp of max power at 7,000rpm and 8.94Nm of peak torque at 5,500rpm. It gets a V-MATIC automatic transmission system that powers the wheels. With a claimed fuel economy of 60Kmpl, Honda Cliq is one of the most economical 110cc scooters available on the market. As expected from Honda, the engine on the Cliq is finely tuned to extract exceptional fuel economy while not compromising on the performance. The engine is refined, with low NVH levels. In addition to offering a torque-filled pickup, it offers smooth power delivery throughout.
Handling & Ride Quality
The braking on the Cliq is handled by drum brakes of 130mm at either end. The braking ability of the scooter enhances due to the presence of CBS (Combi Braking System) which is on offer as standard. The setup is good enough to stop the scooter in a progressive manner rather than at once and abruptly. Its wide handlebar, comfy seat and lowered seat height make short rides carefree. However, long hauls can be troublesome. The wheels are shod with 90/100-10 section tubeless tyres at the front and rear. The spring-loaded hydraulic suspension at the front and back keep bumps at bay and rough patches out of the picture.
Features
It gets Combi Braking System as standard, drum brakes at both ends and headlight with AHO for better vision regardless of the light and weather conditions that enable the rider to take on the road challenges in a confident manner. Also, the tubeless tyres get block pattern tread that ensures stability and takes away the possibility of slips and slides.
