KTM Duke 390 Summary
Here are all the colours of the KTM 390 Duke explained.
What is the price of the KTM 390 Duke?
The KTM 390 Duke is sold in a single variant, priced at Rs 3,12,461 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
What are the colour options of the KTM 390 Duke?
The gen 3 KTM 390 Duke gets two colourways: Atlantic Blue and Electronic Orange.
What are the features of the KTM 390 Duke?
The KTM 390 Duke is one the most feature-rich bikes in the segment. For starters, it gets adjustable front and rear suspension. There’s also a 5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation, and music and call control. In terms of electronic aids, it has riding modes, bi-directional quickshifter, slipper clutch, ABS modes, launch control, and traction control.
Is the KTM 390 Duke a heavy bike?
At 168.3kg (kerb), the 390 Duke is a rather light bike. That should make it easy to handle the bike in parking spaces and manoeuvre in traffic jams.
How fast is the KTM 390 Duke?
In our real-world tests, the 390 Duke accelerated from 0 to 100kmph in 5.91s (VBox tested). That makes it one of the quickest accelerating bikes in the segment. It can out-accelerate most of its rivals, only to be bested by twin-cylinder bikes with the similar displacement. While we haven’t been able to test its top speed, the 390 Duke can ride faster than normal highway speeds without a hiccup.
What is the mileage of the KTM 390 Duke?
In our real-world tests, the KTM 390 Duke had a mileage of 29.64kmpl on the highway, and 25.26kmpl in the city. With a 15-litre fuel tank, that should allow the 390 Duke to have a range of more than 300km.
Is the KTM 390 Duke good for long rides?
The 390 Duke is quite suitable for long rides. It has a powerful engine that can comfortably ride at highway speeds for long distances. With a bigger tank and a higher fuel economy, it can ride more between fuel stops. However, with a lack of windscreen, wind buffeting can cause fatigue to set in early for some riders. The engine heat dissipation is great and you don’t feel the heat on your legs, especially on a highway, which reduces the discomfort. Apart from that, the 390 Duke can do all the touring that you want. The seat is also quite comfortable and allows long hours in the saddle without causing discomfort.
Is the KTM 390 Duke good for off-road riding?
The Duke 390 is not inherently an off-roader, but with a ground clearance of 183mm, despite having an underbelly exhaust, means you should be able to tread off the beaten path. That said, the Duke 390 has an exposed underbelly which means crucial engine components could be damaged from stones and rocks kicked up from the front tyre if you ride on rocky or gravel-ly trails. But if you want to go over broken roads, bumps, and bad patches, it should be a breeze for this 390.
Should I buy the KTM 390 Duke?
If you are looking for the most powerful 400cc naked bike under Rs 3.5 lakh, look no further than the Duke 390. It packs in a fantastic performance, features that many of its rivals don’t get, and is backed by a well-spread service network. Not to mention, the rather cheap service costs for a 400cc motorcycle. All in all, the 390 Duke is a good package, especially if you have a one-bike garage and want a bike that can do it all for you.
What are the alternatives to the KTM 390 Duke?
The rivals to the KTM 390 Duke include the TVS Apache RTR 310, BMW G 310 R, Triumph Speed 400, Husqvarna Svartpilen 401, and the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450. If you prefer something different, you can also check out the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, TVS Apache RR 310, and BMW G 310 GS.
