Mahindra Gusto Summary
Mahindra has launched its Gusto 110cc scooter with CBS. Priced at Rs 50,996 for the DX CBS and Rs 55,660 for the VX CBS (both ex-showroom Delhi), the scooters command a premium of Rs 2,816 (DX) and Rs 2,340 (VX) over their non-CBS counterparts. Mahindra also has a mid-level Gusto 110 RX variant which it still has to launch with CBS.
Mahindra Gusto is a 110cc scooter that embraces industry’s first and future-ready technology features. Some of the notable features include height-adjustable seat, guide lamp, find-me lamps, remote flip key, pocket storage just below the instrument cluster, halogen headlamp and a generous under-seat storage compartment. There are retractable hooks for quick storage and access. Under the skin, it houses the M-TEC 109.6cc air-cooled engine that pumps out a max power of 8bhp at 7,500rpm and a peak torque of 9Nm at 5,500rpm. It features a fuel tank of 6 litres and comes with a mileage of 63.7Kmpl (claimed). It features telescopic front fork with air spring and hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear. The large 12-inch wheels are equipped with 130mm drum brakes and shod with 90/90-12 tubeless tyres. While the Gusto VX comes in six colors, red, white, black, magenta, silver and black. The base variant Gusto DX is offered in three colors, red, white and black. Two matte paint schemes are also on offer, Crimson Matt Red and Pacific Matt Blue.

Mahindra Gusto is a premium 110cc scooter that surpasses others in the segment with its extensive and new-age technology features. The brand has blessed the two-wheeler with innovative features that you often see in high-end cars, which makes it unique and more than desirable to own. Its practical and useful features make your everyday commute easy while keeping you relaxed and away from worries. Some of the industry-first features that it comes with include guide lamp, find-me lamps, height-adjustable seat and remote flip key. The wheel size of 12 inches is bigger than most of the 110cc scooters available on the market. The wheelbase is quite generous to keep the ride stable and offer you peace of mind. Overall, it is a fine blend of style, performance, mileage and technology features that make it stand out in the segment. In the competitive 110cc scooters market, it rivals against the likes of TVS Jupiter, Honda Activa and the Suzuki Let’s. For the DX variant you need to spare INR 47,680, for the Gusto VX INR 52,320 and for the sports variant RS, you need to shell out INR 49,180 from your kitty (all prices are Ex-showroom, Delhi).
Design
Mahindra Gusto is an elegantly-designed 110cc scooter, which in combination with technical offerings sits at the top of the table. The front apron gets a tasteful design with Mahindra logo on the belt connecting the clear-lens turn indicators and the alluring plastic grills. The handlebar gets a big headlamp with LED pilot lights and rear view mirrors nicely mounted on the former. The floor board is large enough to place legs for short and tall riders. Plus, it comes with a mind-blowing height adjustable feature that makes even easy for the taller riders to adjust seat’s height according to their convenience. The aluminium rear grab rail is like icing on the cake to its visual appeal. It comes with ample storage space under the seat, retractable hooks and pocket-storage just under the instrument panel for quick storage and easy access. It has state-of-the-art features like find-me lamps that blink on the press of a button on the remote flip key allowing you to spot the ride in the busy parking lot and guide lamp for you find the path in dark. The remote key flip gets a LED panel that lights up for you to find the key hole at night. The instrument console gets an analogue display for the speedometer, odometer and the fuel gauge. The wheels are 12 inches in diameter, biggest in the class and unlike other scooters that sport traditional 10-inch wheels.
Dimensionally, it measures 1825mm long, 697mm wide and 1188mm high. The ground clearance sits at 165mm and the wheelbase at 1275mm.
Engine, Mileage & Performance
The Gusto incorporates the M-TEC 4-stroke, air-cooled 109.6cc engine that is coupled to a CVT transmission system and produces a max power of 8bhp at 7,500rpm and a peak torque of 9Nm at 5,500rpm. The brand claims it to yield an impressive fuel economy of 63.7Kmpl. There is a 6-litre fuel tank for your daily commutes. The power delivery is smooth and NVH levels are minimal.
Handling & Ride Quality
The scooter offers stable ride not only on urban roads but on the ones with bumps and imperfections, thanks to its telescopic front fork with air-spring suspension and the coil type hydraulic rear shock absorbers. The braking duties on the Gusto are taken care of by the drum brakes of diameter 130mm at both ends. There is no disc option available as yet. The 12-inch wheels are shod with 90/90-12 section tubeless tyres which provide adequate grip and control to the rider regardless of the terrain the scooter rides on. The ground clearance of 165mm helps in crossing over the hard bumps while the wheelbase of 1275mm aids in keeping it still and stable on rough patches.

This is the worst scooter. I mean I have never seen any other scooter with such bad performance it breaks down every single day it doesn’t start in the morning even with a full tank of fuel after having it serviced it still breaks down I’ve had countless problems.
